Nothing good can come of you experimenting with a place like that. Run, don't walk, away.

I'm likely not on the spectrum (see my signature), but I am a Christian from the reformed / calvinist tradition.

I take one or two correspondence classes per year, primarily to keep my brain sharp in middle age, but also because I like the routine. My wife hates it, though. I just finished an interesting one on the history of science.

I don't know if I have Aspergers. I'm leaning towards "no" based on my self-diagnosis test scores in my signature, and based on my lacking a narrow obsessive interest in anything and lack of stimming. I told my wife that I had tested 29 on a test in which Aspergers was suspect if one tested 32 and a...

Ive never had an issue with the phone if it was someone i know. if work calls, or a family member then its no big deal they know my personality. the trouble comes when i have to call someone i dont know, like a computer shop or bike shop, i usually fumble my way through the call, in if i do have to...

I remember it being very pleasant until perhaps grade 5, when I began to feel / understand that I was different. Then the loner days began and the rest of my "childhood" was pretty unhappy. I wasn't beaten, didn't have alcoholic parents, didn't live under a bridge, but, I don't look back on those ye...

When I look back at highschool, grade 12 was my most socially-successful year. I had friends, or at least acquaintances I could sit with in the lunchroom and drink with. A lot of people were getting someone else to write their yearbook entry. Since I couldn't think of what to say in mine, I thought ...

I'm able to focus on what others are saying, but, I have a constant conversation (not schizophrenia - the voices are all me, although sometimes in someone elses "voice") going on internally ("stream of consciousness"?) It can keep me up at nights its so incessant. However, it's never stood in the wa...

I raise clumsiness to all new levels. This morning, for instance, I spilt a full coffee all over my lap at work and had to spend 20 minutes in the washroom drying my pants off with paper towels. Later, I got to spend 2 1/2 hours of tedious, frustrating, boredom listening to a company "state of the u...

Well, I had an appointment with my family doctor this morning for an unrelated matter, so I mentioned my lack of sleep to him. He gave me sleeping pills, but as soon as I mentioned my mind racing etc... he also gave me a card for a psychologist. I still doubt I'm AS (see my "stats" below), but it is...

I have always blamed the constant inner dialogue for this lack of sleep. For a long time I thought I was some type of schizo, but now I realise that the voice in my head is my own - but I just won't shut up. The only thing I can do is use the voice as an internal MP3 player and get it to play music...

Does anyone else here have sleeping problems? I slept for perhaps 3 hours last night. My over the counter sleeping pill might as well of been a tic tac. Most of the time its my "internal conversation" going over drive that keeps me awake. I stew over a conversation I had or even a hypothetical conve...

I have no idea whether your husband has AS. However, you have to understand that even men without AS have some of the traits you describe. Women often expect more emotional attachment from their husbands than they are able to provide. We're wired differently, and to expect that every emotional need ...

Hello ericfromcowtown, welcome, I scored positive on the AQ test and EQ-SQ test, but negative on the RDOS test, I haven't taken the ES-SQ test, and it appears to be down right now, but I'll add it to the list. I think I've taken all the tests now: AQ 29 EQ 18 FQ 41 SQ 24 SQR 50/150 RDOS 75 - ISTJ
