Well punishment is an alien concept to me. I haven't experienced it much as a child and I have not punished my children for anything. 8O Maybe I'm a bad parent, but I just never saw the need of it. Some of my teachers didn't like me but other than scolding I didn't get any extra work or anything. No...

I don't know anyone who likes their period really. All my friends hate them. I was offered Mirena IUD. They say many women with that don't get period at all. Maybe you can consider that. For me I'll just suffer through it. I'm almost 52 and the end is in sight. Life is almost always not what you exp...

I know that feeling, except I often ask people why that's funny and have them explain them in great details. :) In my adulthood I try to drive the conversation and tell lots of jokes myself. If I talk most of the time then I can avoid not understanding other people's talking. :D If I have to listen ...

I vent to whoever is around or online or through text or social media (except my mom). I don't expect people to understand. It really doesn't matter if they care or not because I'd be fine after a few hours anyway. :D I do admit venting to a real person feels good. Especially that person hugs you ti...

I guess getting it cut by other people is not an option? :) I cut my own hair but it's very long, so I only need to do it twice a year.

I'm into fortune telling of all different sorts. :D As well as all sorts of "alternative" stuff like aromatherapy, crystal healing, herbal medicine ...etc. Unfortunately nobody in my family cares about those. Some of them are affronted by the word "luck" already, so I never talk ...

Your periods (if you're not on birth control) should come exactly two weeks after ovulation. Stress and illness can delay ovulation, so they tend to delay periods. Stressful event that happened a couple days ago could not affect ovulation. If your symptoms feel different it is likely you didn't ovu...

Thank you so much for replies! I know this forum isn't very busy. Unfortunately I can't cut her off. She's an orphan, my dad's gone. She only has two kids and my brother has severe mental issues. So I'm her only family who still has a brain. Also we're Chinese. If there's any issue between parent - ...

My mom is the greatest source of stress in my life. More than stresses about money, jobs, raising children and the state of the world combined. As far as I know she's the biggest stress to every other family member, too. I don't understand how one person can be so volatile, so combustible, burning w...

I think introverts have low energy, so probably most aspies, but it's not an autistic thing. Not being energetic is common and not wrong. That's why coffee and tea are popular all over the world, right? :D

Edna, have you got checked for allergies? Your nose shouldn't be stuffed for no reason. Pollen is the most likely cause, or, mold or pollution. If you can find the cause it can be easily treatable.

I can't help but want to say your mom sounds really nice. You're very lucky. :) I don't think my mom has ever rubbed my back. 8O If that happened to my mom and me in a store we'd probably argue all the way home, and she would complain about it all night. Don't feel bad. I'm sure it happens all the t...

I was also gong to suggest seeing the positives in life. Maybe try a "gratitude journal". It can really help. 40 is not too old to start something new. I know plenty of people who changed their life in their 40s or even 50s and were very happy they did. Focus on something small first that ...

Of course. I was so used to seeing people with "proper" expressions I was astonished to see people displaying real emotions. I also know many of those people are completely different within their homes. Like my mom is a terror within our family, but kind and charming to outsiders. Even lon...

Are you taking anything to control this instability? Some amount of mood change and discomfort is normal for everyone. I mean I hardly know a single person who loves having periods. However if you can't handle it then you have a real issue, regardless of what your bloodwork showed. Some girls do muc...
