But I would agree it's perfectly fine to turn it off, and that leaving it on will wear it out eventually too... I'll stand by what I recommended earlier, which is to turn it off if you're not going to use it soon and leave it on if you are. If you're turning it on and off a dozen times through the ...

A laptop is probably a little under 100W, but your average desktop will be over 200W unless it's in "sleep" mode. Many updates require restarts, so if you don't shut down and prefer to let it go into sleep mode on its own (and that's okay) just be sure to give it the occasional restart when prompte...

So long as you use either a proper "shutdown" or go into "sleep" mode, it'll be just fine. Sometimes Windows even needs to be properly shut down and/or restarted just to keep running properly... Some programs have memory leaks, etc. In my 25+ years of PC experience, I'd recommend shutting down over...

Lately I've been hearing from a lot of people in my family and from friends of theirs that leaving your computer on all the time, 24/7 is supposedly better and/or "healthier" for your computer than turning it on and off on a regular basis (regular basis = turning it off before going to bed or turnin...

Chronicle I really felt sympathetic for Andrew in the film. His downward spiral into becoming the villain was all founded on his abusive father and peers at school, something I believe everyone here had/has to deal with. His cousin was an ass well before they got telekinesis and so points Andrew mak...

No response? Well then how about this:

How do you deal with a brother who likes to badmouth everyone simply because he wants to, thinking of himself as being an "a-hole" as being himself?

About a month ago my computer's hard drive had crashed and had recently replaced. A very awkward way of starting off this thread in regards to the title but allow me to explain: As foolish and pitiful as this sounds, I spend a majority of my time on the internet because it is the only escape I have ...

I think it is just an upgraded version. It's not like WWE would actually completely revamp the entire stage nowadays. They're more focused on having the show expand beyond TV (a.k.a.- Internet, Twitter, Touts, etc.) as well as having the show go on longer now that it's 3 hours long. Which I find stu...

For those of you kaiju fans on here. There is a book that was written several years ago by Marc Cerasini and illustrated by Bob Eggleton. This book is known as "Who's afraid of Godzilla?" The story is about Godzilla, whose giant size causes all the monsters on Monster Island to fear him and run away...
