I will fight if I'm threatened but always try to avoid conflicts.
After being bullied for years, I started studying martial arts in High School.
I still practice but my last physical altercation was about 15 years ago. |

| Lol, that was ridiculousss no one talks that way in real life  I've actually had that conversation. More than once. I've never admitted to anyone outside this forum that I believe I have AS but I have tried to convince people that just because I behave differently doesn't mean I'm some kind of... |

A resounding no.
Unfortunately, I did not fair much better in college and only made it through one semester.
I managed to get through trade school but that was also an unpleasant experience for me. |

I skipped mine.
I went to a small High School and all the girls there already knew how weird I was and I just felt that if I went I would end up getting made fun of yet again so I volunteered to work that night at my fast food restaurant job so someone else could go have fun. |

I think I stick out like the proverbial sore thumb.
I have been told by many people many times that when they first saw me, they sensed there was something different about me.
I think I actually stick out more when I try to blend in. |

| I was prescribed this as well to deal with severe anxiety. It had gotten to be very pervasive and I always felt like I was going to die. The Paxil alleviated the anxiety very well and very quickly. The side effects for me were severe apathy. I quit paying bills because I just didn't see the need. I ... |

I get this all the time, I have little expression in my face.
Sometimes I'll actually be in a good mood and people will ask me if I'm sad.
It used to get me down but now it's just one of those things and doesn't affect me anymore. |

| Speaking as one self-diagnosed individual, I take no offense to your post. If that is how you feel, I respect your opinion. In a nutshell, I am two years into a search to figure out my behavior. I am pursuing an official diagnosis. I was referred to psychologists when I was in school but my mother w... |

| I feel like this a lot and frequently turn it all off and just won't talk to anyone. I usually need at least one day a week alone without pretending if I'm to have any hope of successfully interacting at work for another week. Sounds like you're a part time hermit. :) I have used that term to descr... |

| I didn't cut my hair from '88 to '08, it got down past my buttocks. I now cut my own hair, buzz cut, once a week. I don't like being touched and there was always an unbearable tingling all down my spine when they would get the clippers any where near my ears but doing it myself, I don't feel that. |

I shop alone and go to the movies alone but I never go to bars or restaurants. |

| I am ambidextrous with a strong preference for the left hand. I was naturally left handed but my mother was told that left handed people were less intelligent than right handed so she forced me to use my right hand a lot when I was young which gave me my ability to use both. I used to use my left ha... |
