| I know how you feel, I have no idea how to play these mind games either and getting a date cancelled or being ignored is so hurtful. These games are usually power games. In my experience there's little you can do to avoid these other than avoid dating people altogether. Just act as you normally woul... |

Hurrah! I'm going to have to review my low opinion of small talk - it does work! I asked him if he was angry & he replied that he wasn't, just had lots to do. So much for all those other deep and meaningful messages designed to drag out an answer out of him... |

| Groovy Druid did an excellent posting under another header where, if I recall correctly, he said that it put him though two years of pain and anguish to find out he had AS. If you can't be certain that it'll help him knowing, best to leave things as they are. Sounds like he's got enough stress at th... |

| Hi Carol Of course only you can know what ultimately is good or bad for you, but there seem two telling things in your posting which ring alarm bells. ....periods of emotional abuse and physical abuse(pushing and shoving during heated arguements). I guess I should mention we have 3 children, ages 3 ... |

| It's been hard for me to get her to understand that I can have very satisfying sexual contact without having the one thing NTs seem to give a lot of priority to. Sorry to pry sin_nombre, but this is really intriguing me. Do you mean 'going the whole way' (I'm trying to avoid the censor) when you re... |

| Jetson, your posting could easily have been written by my SO who looks puzzles when I tell him that I've missed him like crazy and never initiates anything (not now that he's got my attention anyway). Thanks for being so honest. |

| Someone who makes an effort to meet up for a start! People don't come to you, you have to go to them. Surley if you know they are perfect you would have met them already? Sorry, was just reflecting on my own current predicament, ie a guy who says he wants to meet up 'soon' but then is constantly 'v... |

Someone who makes an effort to meet up for a start! (but that's my own personal gripe)
Otherwise, someone who's quirky, his own person and proud of it. An honest, down-to-earth guy, who is considerate and loving (without being icky), who'll go the extra mile for you. |

| Hurrah for the 50% of males who have voted yes. It doesn't matter if someone is Aspie or NT as long as it 'feels right' to be together and you both make an effort to understand and support each other. Lots of NT/NT relationships are complete disasters - and they're supposed to be fully equipped to c... |

| I hate small-talk, yet in England it's quite difficult to get much beyond it. People go on and on about the weather and they expect you to remember all about them and their families and pets etc and enquire after them at length. It drives me crazy! |

Yep, no means no.
There's someone out there for you who's far better suited and she'll say yes. It's just a matter of time. |

| I agree with Spanky, innocence and a 'childlike' quality are very attractive, particularly as it comes with a childlike enthusiasm that is so rare in people. What I find unattractive is a 'seen it, been there' attitude and generally a desire to meld into a crowd. Most guys I come across (all NT) are... |

| Cool t-shirt, I want one! The treaty of Brest-Litovsk. There isn't one, except via my twisted sense of humour. I felt a pressing need to go for a complete mis-communication. Wonderful, I wish everyone had a sense of humour like that! I feel sometimes like putting a caveat before I say or write anyth... |
