I have a totally incompetent supervisor who makes up "fun" busy-work projects for herself and our team that she often tries to dump onto me to "help" with - even though this takes away time from my real work, and I already have more real work than I have time to do. When I point out I can't even get...

Worst job I ever had was working in a "Call Before You Dig" call center. The people I worked with were decent, and some even fun, but having to follow a script and being rushed and timed and recorded all the time (and chewed out if you spent 2 seconds too long with some calls) made me really anxious...

I totally understand, BrokenBill. I'm about your age, and I've been working since I was 20 years old to get along with the neurotypical world - learning how to talk with them, how to work with them, etc etc. Then the last year or so I've just begun to break down. Depressed all the time. Wanting to d...

I have had a terrible time getting MRs to get that I don't react "normally", either. They are just grossly ignorant about anything not in the book they all memorize. Which is why I don't take their drugs for anything any more. I would love to have a doctor who used their brain, though, instead of cal...

I was under the impression these roadside memorials were pedestrians ( on foot) were kiiled at the literal spot. One day it finally dawned on me. Yeah, it'd be kinda hard to pound a wooden cross into the p... |

Some people have said that they started rocking back and forth after reading about other people doing it, and it feels good to them, so they keep doing it. This is true for me. I used to rock when I was a kid, but hadn't for decades. Then I read that other people do it, I tried it, and it was comfo...

is it possible to make fiends on Wrong Planet? I've learned to recognize some folks from their login and pic, but I've not really made any friends - and by that I mean people who look forward to having you around and interacting with you on some level. Does that happen on Wrong Planet - that people ...

I'm recently pondering the role of religion in creating order in our lives. I've noted that when I'm feeling there's more chaos in my world, I'm drawn back to religious belief that's very structured (in my case, Roman Catholicism), because of the structure it hangs on my life. I'm also curious about...

Thoughts on Facebook: Unless they've changed it, you should be able to hide your friend list (they've made it harder to do this, but I did it. Google and keep trying until you find out how.). Once your friend list is hidden, no more worries about others seeing how few "friends" you have. I only have...
