3) Ghost - Infestissumam I was thinking this was released in 2012 for some reason. Not as good as their debut but it will definitely be up there in my next revised top 10 list. Agreed, it's not as good their debut, but it's still great nonetheless. I added the new Sepultura album due to it blowing ...

PS I forgot about Watain's "The Wild Hunt" as well and that's definitely in my top ten. I suppose I'll have to revise my list before year's end anyway.

Oh, and I’m eagerly looking forward to new material from Alcest, Entombed, Agalloch and Tool (hopefully) for 2014. I'm wondering if Alcest have dropped all traces of black metal all together now and will just be a shoegaze type band. The new album cover for “Shelter” looks fairly “un-metal like” for...

I listen to way too much music to just pick one song, or even ten, plus I like listening to albums from beginning to end, so I’ll just make a list of songs I find totally amazing and try to keep it to one song per artist… JOY DIVISION – Means To An End THE SISTERS OF MERCY – Some Kind of Stranger CH...

I can’t copy and paste youtube links for some reason.. Anyways, earlier today I've listened to: ILDJARN – Ildjarn Is Dead (just the first disc) Raw primitivism perfected through lo-fi minimalistic black metal. Definitely a worthwhile compilation. MYSTICUM – In the Streams of Inferno The best industr...

Yeah, they're both damn good for sure.
I’ll probably give the new Deicide a listen when it comes out, though “The Stench of Redemption” is their only great release of the last while. Looking forward to the new Nocturnal Graves album as well.

Speaking of bands from that era going strong, how about newer Darkthrone material?? Sure, at this point it looks like we may never get another “A Blaze In the Northern Sky” or “Transilvanian Hunger” but I love their new almost crusty blackened heavy metal sound and think it’s worked extremely well f...

Yeah, Immortal need to be taken with a grain of salt but the atmosphere created on the first two albums is just so epic and cold. “Battles In the North” and “Sons of Northern Darkness” are overrated though I’ll give you that.

I’ve always found Satyricon’s material to be a bit overrated when compared to their bm Norweigan peers to be honest, though “Nemesis Divina” and “Dark Medieval Times” (as well as the split with Enslaved) are still pretty decent releases in my books. I constantly go back and forth between these, so I...

Two incredible albums indeed. The majestic atmosphere created on ITNE is pretty much unmatched, plus the cover has some of my favourite album artwork of all time. DMDS is a masterpiece too. Though it's hit or miss for most people I think Atilla delivers one of the most genuinely creepy vocal perform...
