I'm sad that many other people in our society treat those that they perceive as "different" with cruelty and disrespect rather than valuing them for their differences and what they are able to contribute to society by virtue of their differences and unique perspectives. I am not sad about not being ...

One of two programs that I watch on television has been canceled. This seems to be the case whenever I like anything. I can't stand the so called reality TV shows, and I am nauseated by the treatment of the mentally ill in the media, which is another reason that this program is so unique. I do not c...

Hello Jason, First of all welcome. This greeting will be short, because I need to leave for an appointment. It sounds like you really need to give yourself time to unwind from the situation. As far as the situation with your friend is concerned, if you feel that he mistreated/abused you, maybe he is...

I often just don't think of eating, and I seem to lack appetite. Even when I'm hungry I don't have much of an appetite, and could as easily eat sawdust. I worry a lot about my weight, and often say that if they would just invent something like Purina People Chow, life would be a lot easier in terms ...

Welcome to wrongplanet. I'm 51. I think that there are a couple of others out here my age, and I think that their is someone that is 60. I've noticed quite a few in their 20's and 30's, many teens, and even some younger. It's quite a community. Again, welcome!

I think that I mentioned that I worked as an institution aide at a large institution for profoundly physically and cognitively disabled individuals a number of years ago. Many of the persons that I cared for would never even distantly relate to the world as we know it, but since they have never expe...

As a child I always tried to imagine how I would feel if people close to me were to die. It was important to me, because I used my anticipated reaction as a gauge to determine how much I loved someone, if at all. Another gauge was whether or not I could imagine myself dying for them, because I thoug...

I'm not sure how I "feel" about it as I would need more information about your particular circumstances. It appears you are expressing your "need" to be wanting correct "treatment". Of which in my personal experience would be Occupational Therapy and Social/Communication Skills training I am 51. My...

I believe that I have asperger's syndrome. I am also bipolar and mental health professionals have also tried to attach a diagnosis of personality disorder NOS (PD-NOS). This because they think that I have characteristics of some personality disorders (like obsessive, schizotypal), but not enough to ...

| Hello Vincent I hope that you stick around for a while. I agree that this is an excellent community. I'm new to it myself. I've tried other online communities, and found that they weren't for me. | I am not sure what my very first stim was. I remember a number from age two or three, but the most significant must have started out with rocking that resulted in an accidental sexual experience that was extremely traumatic. It terrified me, and more than anything else, led me to the conclusion that... |
