Magneto I'm sorry I took you at face value but Charters are a very controversial topic now in the US. Charter schools receive government funding yet they can accept-and deny anyone who they wish. Often times middle class people who live in large cities start up charter schools so that their children...

That would cost an arm and a leg and drain the school system for NTs, thereby creating more potential resentment against us. Many of us have diverse interests. I am not particulalry interested in farming and enjoy big city life as I do not have to see anyone I know unless I arrange to meet them. One...

I was diagnosed with PDD-NOS when I was a year old as I had severe motor delays. When I was four, my preschool teacher suggested that I might have Autism as I was not relating to the world around me but the child psychiatrist they appointed ruled that out as I had no speech delays. Instead I was dia...

"Also a lot of these books don't seem detailed enough. I find the phrase "with Asperger's Syndrome" is very vague and unhelpful. It doesn't explain what the actual sensory issues are for the person concerned. It seems to be a "waste bucket" of lots of developmental and sensory conditions, some of wh...

As a female, I tend to get along better with homosexual men because I know they are after sex, but not with lesbians as I've had bad experiences. When I was nine, I was molested by a fifteen year old female.

I spent most of my free time in the library. There were a few people who bullied, but most people left me alone. I got along well with most teachers as well. There were a few I did not like, particularly in Freshman year and I hated my guidance counselor who decided that the social scene was an esse...

Outer Borough Girl They made me take speech therapy as well even though I had no speech delays. This only led me to belive my speech was deficient and made me less confident to speak in public. I did have motor delays and social delays so I guess they were justified in putting me in PT, OT, and Soci...

OuterBoroughGirl My parents and the schools I went to forced me into every conceivable therapy and often times I was placed with intellectually handicapped children and when the class divided up, they always placed me in lowest level groups even though they had no idea about my abilities. This did a...

I think the baad thing about labels is that you are automatically associated with-and associate yourself with-everyone who bears that label. Family members or professionals might attribute behaviors typical of others with that label to you before you have even had the chance to exhibit them and you ...

"My point is that there's a lot of sexism in several fields (say mathematics, science, technology to be specific) that makes women feel unwelcome and often discriminated against. In situations like that, it's not just because women don't want to go into those fields, but because there's active hosti...

I don't think a public relations firm should get in trouble because there are no Aspies or a construction company should be sued because there is a shortage of women.
