Get away from them as quickly as possible if I can. Negative emotions from others infect me. I don't like or want those distressing feelings.

Going back a few decades and repeating jobs I've hated or else redoing school/college/university. The other old favourite is just getting angry and shouting at people I dislike, but that usually wakes me up very quickly.

Every time I have a shower a certain phrase comes to mind and I usually say it (though quietly). This has been going on for about 3 years now, so it's a daily ritual. I can't seem to stop :? There have been others in the past that last for days or months. Sometimes a word or phrase will be forgotten...

People don't just think I'm depressed - I am depressed. But I agree with your observation, that people assume that not wanting to go out much or speak with people means that there is something wrong and that the remedy must be doing those very things. Who knows, perhaps that works for the majority.

I remember everything perfectly except for a blank spot aged about 12-14. I was deeply depressed then and have virtually no memories of that time.

"Tight" head sounds like an allergy to me. We are into hay-fever seasons and I'm suffering terribly. I generally feel totally out of it when it gets to this time of year, and every year I feel worse.

Forum: General Autism Discussion   Topic: Is not finding babies cute an Aspie trait?

I was purposefully avoiding this thread but it has gone on for 10 pages now. What is it with the "do you think *insert random thought here* is an aspie trait?" kind of questions? I don't get it. I personally do not find babies cute. Even when I had my own. Interesting, but not cute. Toddlers and pre...

Most children are very creative when it comes to injuring themselves. Mine have both had numerous bruises and scrapes including black-eye's. It happens. Now, I don't know whether or not that abuse is the first thing that is assumed by NT's as I've seen no evidence and have no idea how other people t...

Different people will give you a different answer. What some swear by others have a bad reaction to. I'm personally of the stoic school of thought. Stiff upper lip and all that, what? 8) Actually I was doing remarkably well with that approach until I was coerced into starting anti-depressants. My pe...

I hate to sound like Mr Negative, but are you people genuinely serious about 'loving' aspects of aspergers? It's all bad as far as I'm concerned.

it's not an aspie thing. everybody feels "blah" pretty much all the time, but when somebody asks you how you're feeling, it's simply a matter of convention that no matter how you're feeling you reply "good" or "fine". "how are you" is just a way for people to establish an initial connection and mov...

Don't you hate it how, not only do parents force their children to ride buses What makes you think they are 'forcing' them. Had it occured to you that maybe they have to take them on the bus? Leaving young children home alone is a criminal offence. I wish someone somewhere has the guts to tell thes...

No. Isn't being 'hyperfocused on what other people think of you" the normal behaviour though?
