But it is a double edged sword because actual female friends will undoubtedly have many new female friends of their own to introduce you to. If anything it is probably better to have more 'proper' female friends. Plus they will put a good word in for you;) That would be true if you're an outgoing N...

Of course, when you befriend a woman in the hope of eventually dating her, you're never a real friend to begin with.

For someone who (basically) thinks of himself as decent-looking and "built," being told that he looks like a hobbit might've come as a shock.

Can someone explain to me what the female perspective on this is? Why do women have such a rigid "either/or" mentality when it comes to friendships and relationships? I don't know, why do men insist on turning a working friendship into "something more"? Why can't they be satisfied with a relationsh...

Ah, glad this came to a happy endind. :D But this isn't a happy ending--Stefan's arrival is just a temporary solution to OP's problems. She will be okay tonight and probably whenever he comes back to her after she pushes him away, but what about the rest of the time when she basically thinks of her...

Don't give up hope. It's not impossible at all because there are success stories out there. Obviously it is very possible you just have to believe and never give up. What, did Tinker Bell come back to life just because you believed and started clapping? Some people just will never be in a relations...

Not to mention that anyone who wants to be needed probably has issues he/she needs to sort out before bothering with a relationship.

"If she likes a male, she can be extremely noticeably awkward in her attempts to let him know, e.g. she might stare at him when she sees him or call him repeatedly. This is because she fixates and doesn't understand societal gender roles. This will change with maturity." I don't know if it ch...

Are you fairly involved in college? I spent most of my free time in college in a seven-floor library reading obscure books that normal people didn't care about, and every time someone began to notice me and tried to strike a conversation with me I made sure to avoid that floor until (I assumed) that...

Thank you, Laz, for bringing some clarity to this discussion. Most of the posters have definately failed to understand the main problem in my relationship with my boyfriend. I am tired of having to hide my qualifications from people in order to make them feel better about themselves..... and this i...

The one I'm looking at is a volunteer position as a DJ for some kids' radio show. Pretty sure the song options are even more limited, but I'm not really a music fanatic and I'm more interested in the talking aspect of it anyway. I think it's fun to challenge myself to do something I'm terrible at an...

Education changes people.

What, it turns them into a pain in the ass?

I don't know, Laz, many of my college professors managed to have PhD and be clearly knowledgeable without being obnoxious about it. Pretty sure the problem with OP isn't that she received too much education for her own good.

What a load of crap. Skin colors are a poor indicator of how much in common you have with someone and a middle-class white man probably has more in common with a middle-class black woman than with a working-class white woman. People just have all sorts of assumptions about someone whose skin color d...

I don't support being a nice guy, the reason I am saying this is that I encourage them to learn how to be manipulative, phony, and arrogant. Most women you will meet will love it. I have learned how to be manipulative and phony and it works . Again, I realize that not all women are like that. Just ...
