Hey there. I've found a maths problem and want to know (a) if anyone has discovered it before I have & (b) what the answer is. The problem is simple, A square with one side is one square. A square with two by two sides is 4 squares, plus one imaginary square (the square around the outside which ...

I don't think the original post was asking about emotional pain causing physical pain, but rather about emotional pain manifesting primarily as physical pain. In which case yes: I know exactly what you mean. I often feel like I've been punched in the stomach, and often tense it up as if attempting t...

If by 'toes' you mean the front of your feet then yes. I do this whenever I take my shoes off.

Oh come on, read what I wrote. You're responding as if I didn't comment on the word "illness", which I did. And what I said fits well with what you said. Okay; perhaps I was a little harsh on your lack of focus on the 'illness' part. So we have agreement on the 'illness' problems. I must pipe in wi...

You're problem is with the word 'invisible'!? Sure it's invisible, that means you don't see it. It may be inferred, but what's more likely to be inferred it 'oddness'. If autism were completely invisible then it wouldn't be a problem. For something to be said to exist it must present itself in some ...

Cheers Sage, very helpful.

I don't know if the twitching is stimming. I can control it, but when I loose concentration (as when sleeping) it happens all by itself. I thought stimming was voluntary?

I rather appreciate violent computer games - they're exciting. Final Fantasy is a 'play in front of your grandma game'. Violence comes about because games are about challenges, and challenges are mental, social or physical. Mental challenges are unpopular (why not just play chess anyway?) and social...

Did anyone else in childhood imitate/ pick up movement? I've heard of aspies mimicking sounds, and very random sounds certainly stick with me and replay for up to a week, but I've never done anything vocal. I used to see something and then copy for the next few days. Some of the patterns have stayed...

Correcting myself isn't enjoyable, but it's easy to avoid: don't make mistakes. Instead of saying 'x happened', simply quote the source you heard it from. If you say 'I heard that x', then you can't really be wrong. If you say 'It seems that x', this also works. Though on that note, don't say 'It's ...

My theory as to why things take so much more energy for us is that we are always translating between the way our brains work and the ways things work in the outside world. The world is set up for people who are comfortable with change and social interaction in ways that most of us just aren't. When...

Same here.
I thought I hated all sports until I found climbing, martial arts, cycling and running.

Still can't do group sports.
Perhaps Autism ought to count as a permanent 'note' to be excused from PE? Or at least to wander off and do something else, like climbing.

Anyone seeing this behavior would think we are the most lax parents to allow our kid to talk to us like that. That's an interesting thing to say. Might I guess that you are not Autistic? You seem to be saying that it is a problem that people disapprove of how you raise your child. You also seem to ...

Atheist. The whole god and jesus thing never made sense. Plus, the god of the christian bible is kind of a terrible person or god. Not interested in such things. For gods, I would have to go with Odin, not only did he pluck out his own eye for knowledge, he also hung himself from a tree and stabbed...
