Most people didn't know about autism in the 80s. I'm not angry that my parents didn't know. It would have been must worse for me if they knew. My "mother" has NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder) and it's likely that she would have killed me or abandoned me in the streets to die to avoi...

1). Let the other person do most of the talking. Ask the person about themselves, their kids, etc. but not questions that are not too weird or invasive. This shows that you have an interest in the person's life. 2). Talk about yourself only if the other person asks. Then give answers as brief as pos...

Never say "No" to anyone about anything. I was not allowed to say no to anything. For example, when I was a kid, my mom wanted to give me a pink bedroom and I said no, I like purple, can I have a purple room instead? She flew into rage and started screaming about what a difficult and defiant child I...

like whether MCR is a good band Anyway, I also have never quite understood why NTs don't like debating things... i mean, don't they want to figure out the truth about things too? No. NTs voice their opinions to feel heard and validated. That is why it is rude to debate with or correct them in most ...

I'm not sure if I've mentioned this one. If you don't agree, don't venomently express your opinion, just acknowledge. Its best just to agree with people even if you don't necessarily. That is a good one that I've been trying to practice lately. I don't know why they get upset if someone disagrees w...

If you are really good at academics, hide this. For example, lie to other students about test grades and deliberately give the teacher wrong answers when he or she calls on you most of the time. But don't act too dumb. Otherwise NTs think you are deliberately "showing out" and trying to insult them ...

Texture is a big thing for me. It's weird, but textures can't be mixed together, like soft chocolate brownies with hard crunchy peanuts in them. But mostly it's processed foods and anything fried (too much grease). I can only drink milk if it is organic; regular milk gives me horrendous stomach ache...

I recently am getting into astrology, I used to think it was a mythical thing but now it's part of my core beliefs. I want to see if there's any pattern correlation between people with Autism, and their zodiac. So I'll start off with mine, which is March 20, (Pisces). _________________ EDIT: Thanks...

I had a mother who would do this. My therapist said she had Narcissistic Personality Disorder. I moved out of her house, which enraged her and she would call me on the phone and scream things like, "WHY WON'T YOU WATCH THIS MOVIE WITH ME?!? YOU GET OVER HERE RIGHT NOW AND WATCH MOVIES WITH ME!! I DO...

People seem so weird to me that I seem to have trouble distinguishing between people who are a little odd and people who are manipulative and dangerous. As annoying as NTs can be, they are helpful to sort out eccentric from trouble. I know what you mean. I hate not being able to spot bad people lik...

I can't stand the taste of alcohol or the smell (it smells like something that has been rotting in the back of my fridge for a couple of months). I've tried to like it, but I can't. Everyone thinks I'm some uptight Baptist or something and people don't believe me when I say that I don't drink becaus...

I hate almost every movie I see, too, as well as TV shows because they are filled with lame jokes (usually bad penis and potty humor types) and are so dumbed down that I'd have to cut my IQ in half to be amused. Most of the movies I like are old, such as Planet of the Apes. I can't remember the last...

If so do you like your choice of career? I don't know if you would exactly call it a "scientist" but I had a job doing environmental testing for EPA permits and environmental lawsuits, and then I had another one doing DNA extractions in a medical lab. Then I got laid off, and now I'm a just a dishw...
