1. "Aspergers is simply a different cognitive style - having AS is just as 'good' as being NT" Correct one. I'm always against using Asperger's as a reason to glorify oneself, when people deem themselves as smarter just because of their Asperger's. At the same time it's not a social handicap by def...

I can relate to so many societal issues explored in a lot of more mature Anime. However, Anime's still got a certain rep, most of the Anime you'll see on TV is something like Beyblade, Bakugan, that juvenile stuff. When I was younger I loved Digimon, but other than that one, I preferred western cart...

I could stop doing all my stims (I call them my "quirks"), but then I'd really have to find something else to do.
I'd get so bored. But I can do it. Do I want to, though? They keep my head sharp. Things like literally translating from one language to the next, constantly, everything I hear. |

What is your first name: It's Sam. Age: 21 years old. Location: Belgium. Hobbies and Interests: Mostly Anime. I like talking about psychological & philosophical stuff. I'm not that rational, I'm bad with numbers. I love Aspie girls, because I can relate to them, and they tend to be really kind. ...

I'm a few months away from turning 21. No degree, no job, no driver's license, unlike so many of my peers. To me, adult life never "started", I never received an indication of "hey, you're an adult now" because I quit school when I was 16. Unlike others, I didn't suddenly get to graduate college, bu...

Hello Aspie Girl! Don't be afraid to ask all sorts of questions on this forum, or send private messages to people,
since talking to other Aspies is what pretty much everyone is here for. |

My favorite Anime is WataMote, about an Aspie girl coping with her unpopularity in high school. I'd recommend it to everybody on this website.
My favorite western cartoon has always been Courage The Cowardly Dog. |

Anime's a very popular interest. It shouldn't be that hard to find girls who're into it, and they aren't necessarily geeks. It's not always obsessive, it's just a thing they watch & like sometimes. It's not like D&D where you have to totally get into it. If you've been to cons, it's not just...

Of course you can be an extrovert! A fair amount of Aspies would prefer to spend time with others rather than being alone. The problem is usually that they don't feel like they fit in, so they keep looking for people they can relate with. Wanting and having something is different. To me, the main di...

For me, I don't see it as important at all. I do find Asperger's attractive because I'll have quite a few things in common with those people, and lots to talk about. However, I'd never see it as a requirement for a lover. Therefore, the poll is hard to answer. Also, this nonsense I'm hearing about n...

I drink coffee every day, though it's more out of habit rather than addiction, I'm sure. I went on a few weeks without caffeine and didn't feel different. It's just enjoyable to drink coffee, I think I could be fine with just drinking decaf. I'm unsure whether caffeine increases or reduces my anxiet...

I definitely want to have kids someday. I think I could run a family, if my partner would be a very supportive person to always be at my side. The only time when I have a problem with things is when I feel lonely.

Impossible. Your Asperger's is a part of who you are, your character. If you were NT instead, you'd be a completely different person, you wouldn't be "you". If you see it as a handicap, then it sounds like self-pitying to me. Maybe you hate being anxious around strangers and think that being NT woul...

It's just a symptom, a trait. Some people with Asperger's don't like eye contact, and others are fine with it. It's a wide spectrum.

If you want to spot an Aspie, look for physical clumsiness, a dry and monotone voice, odd movement, and an unhealthy interest in Klingon culture.
