If you feel that, way, your best option would be to consult legal advice on sueing the hospital. Or you could write a book about it and see if you can get it published. Yeah I think that's what I will try. However it's extremely difficult because I signed myself over to the care of the group home w...

Social Services where the hospital is located. My social worker is incompetent. The entire system, every one I have been involved with have been terrible. I don't know where to go from here. If I don't get help soon I'll get complications from physical health issues because I think I have PTSD and ...

I have a very simple question. Is there a proper way or appropriate place online where I can share my experiences in the mental health system and hospitals? I've been through a lot, although I'm in a relatively stable living situation right now. I haven't been able to get proper therapy for what I t...

I think I have PTSD but it hasn't been diagnosed yet. I was stuck in an abusive group home for about 7 months and exposed to a lot of trauma there. I haven't been able to find proper help yet.

I can relate somewhat. I have been through a lot of trauma, and when the anniversary of the trauma happens I feel very emotional and relive a lot of the same feelings. Anniversaries are the worst thing ever. The time of year, the dates, etc. etc. I don't need to be reminded of what happened. And yea...

Stop thinking yourself as different from the rest of humanity. Everyone is as weird as you are. They are just weird in different ways.

If he can't concentrate it's mostly a sensory itnegration problem from his Autism. You just got to give him a weighted blanket, and other deep pressure input like lifting weights and going for car rides (vibrations help.) Massaging chairs, moving chairs and yoga balls when he's doing homework and st...

I have a very weak sense of smell, maybe due to allergy and sinus problems. I have a hypersensitive and unfiltered sense of sound, balance, heights, and sight. The height is the most interesting to me because those things become better with deep pressure input. I am unable to even walk up a stepladd...

Deep pressure input such as a 15 pounds weighted blanket for my shoulders, a long relaxing drive (vibrations from the road are deep pressure input), repetitive motions or tasks like organizing things, listening to loud music on loop in a quiet dark room.

I think I may have posted in this thread earlier, but it's been so long I can't remember. If you're sensitive to noise or have other sensory integration problems, driving can help a lot. The vibrations in the road will give you deep pressure input and calm you down. When I was a baby driving for a f...

I don't think reading about death really helps you get your mind off of death. If you got your mind off of death you'd probably feel less depressed.

I spent most of my life watching late night television which helped me learn how to tell jokes and even have conversations and fake caring about things I don't actually care about.

Sometimes marijuana can really exaserbate my depression and anxiety, other times I end up having a really enjoyable time and doing unexpected things. Usually situations where I have a good time are situations where I'm already doing a couple things to make myself feel better. I wouldn't advocate it,...
