I have extreme social anxiety and I have tried several ssri's for it. I tried paxil first and it worked well for a while but I had side effects such as stomach pain. Next I tried lexapro and I couldn't tell it made any difference. Now I am on Effexor xr and I am doing great without any side effects....

In High school I overheard some girls asking my cousin why I didn't join in with them when they were clowning around. She answered, "I guess its because her dad is a minister." The real reason I didn't try to join in was because I had been rejected so many times before.

I don't think I want any friends. I don't answer my phone. I don't answer the door. I only go out to get grocerys and come straight home. I only communicate with my children and my husband. I go walking in a nature preserve where I rarely run into anyone. If I do run into anyone, it ruins my mood!

I got yelled at at the department of motor vehicles. Here's how it went. I was helping a friend get his driver's license. On the day of the driver's test I had to go in with him because he was using my car. I had to take the vehicle registration in to prove it's my car. When I showed the woman my re...

Yes, I have a special affinity for cats as well. I have tamed several feral cats in my lifetime and the three I own now are their offspring. Leo, the first feral I tamed died of feline leukemia, four years ago. I could communicate almost on a telepatic level with Leo. I allowed him all the freedom h...

I am the same. I have to leave when my husband showers with very fragrant body washes like High Endurance or AXE. They make my eyes and throat burn. I cannot stand the smell of burnt popcorn, or smoke of any kind. It makes me nausated and dizzy. I have to leave the neighborhood when my neighbors bur...

I have more trouble making friends with people my own age, (my peers), than I do with someone much younger or much older. I read somewhere that this is a charactistic of Asperger syndrome. Therefore, I find it quite fitting that people of all ages are communicating harmoniously on an AS message board.

I stay tanned all year long even if I never set foot out of doors. This is quite odd since my sisters and brothers are all very light skinned.

"Freaks, Geeks, and Asperger Syndrome", was one of the first books I read about AS. I remember liking it a lot. Luke Jackson is very witty and wise for his age. You can go to amazon.com and read some of the first chapter for free.

Angel by Sarah McLachlan, He Walked On Water by Randy Travis, Honey by Bobby Goldsboro, and Eric Clapton's Tears In Heaven, can make me cry for days, so I avoid listening to them if I possibly can.

http://www.stanford.edu/~dement/paralysis.html I have been getting sleep paralysis since puberty. I am now fifty. I don't get it every night, mostly when I have had to much caffine. I get it at sleep onset and the only way I can get out of it is to force myself to wiggle my toes, which is very hard ...

I consider myself a tomboy. I hate busy patterns and always dress in plain tees and jeans. I don't wear jewelry or makeup and I don't style my hair or primp. I like to do things like fix cars and build furniture. All my friends are male except one female who shares my tomboyish interests.
