I've come to the realization that my son has been flushing whole rolls of toilet paper, cardboard tube and all. How he's not clogged the toilet doing this I don't know, I also don't know how I haven't heard all the flushing ... it seems like he's been achieving this with minimal flushing. Twice now ...

How's the toilet training going?

We got him to pee in the bathroom at the mall today.

That's great! My son insists on taking a tour of the public restrooms wherever we go. Doesn't matter if he has to go or not. :p

Welcome to the group. :D Overall girls on the spectrum are much more likely to have milder symptoms than boys (this leads to a lot of girls never being diagnosed or receiving help). My son was still non-verbal at 2 1/2, he used to just spew random letters and numbers and has more extreme behaviors t...

New video is up, "Meet the Number Guys." We used animation software for this one, it's our first fully-animated video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_6FLQnL2GA Thanks for the update, he enjoyed it. :D Glad he liked it. We probably won't be doing any more fridge videos for a while, we've had a cou...

We got our son's evaluations for Kindergarten in the mail today (we still have another meeting to do). His results were dominated by terms like "very poor, below average, clinically significant, low" ... There were a few "averages" in there but you get the idea. The only real highlight is that his l...

That's great, love the title! Mine has recently started banging on our keyboard too. One of these days I should put a few videos together showing how much he's changed, and he is changing a lot right now ... I don't have too many videos showing how he was when was younger though because I almost alw...

That's awful if they're trying to teach autistic kids in a mainstream way, trying to pound square pegs into round holes. Definitely not the best approach.

It definitely can help to use whatever he's already interested in to help him learn. When my son was 18 mos. to 3 years instead of babbling or using basic words he would talk in letters and numbers, like "A,B,2,7,R,6!" So I put his toys in painted containers with numbers on them to assign meaning to...

My son is going through the evaluation process for special needs Kindergarten now. He has a lot of issues, his language comprehension isn't very good, he uses a lot of echolalia, I got him potty trained but he can't wipe himself, his mood can switch from bubbly/super happy to angry and completely un...

I thought it was called "My Fridge" on the first and "Mean Fridge" on the second video. Maybe I only like My Fridge better because I was exposed to that first. I don't think the fridge has done anything truly mean yet like throwing rotten vegetables or closing his door on the kid's hand. I se...
