Are any of you here multi-lingual? (For lack of a better phrase.) I have a basic understanding ("basic" means I can visually understand the language by reading and that I know several phrases and words but cannot truly converse) of 8 languages: 1. Spanish (I studied Spanish, very diligently, for six...

I like clothes and enjoy shopping for them. One thing I do not understand about Autism is how some Autistics seem to HATE clothing. I know it's largely a sensory issue, but it is still very hard for me to comprehend. About the only materials I can think of that I'm sensitive to are satin (only if un...

I happen to take Zoloft and I think it is the best medication that I have ever been on. I just wish it existed while I was in college and Culinary School. Especially Culinary School. Life would've been so much easier then on Zoloft! I remembr when this couple who are good friends of my parents sugge...

One thing from my early childhood was when I was in elementary school (I believe I was in the First Grade) and this old comic, Steve Allen, came to my school and taped my class for his TV show. There are only two things I recall about Steve Allen's visit: 1. We were not supposed to tell our parents ...

Maybe he means Belarus, Magic. I just looked up White Russia in Wikipedia and Belarus was the only country listed for that. Also probably the Ukraine too.

I am white (English, Irish, Scots, Latvian, Polish, and French). I might not be totally white because my dad was adopted and we think he is part Native American, but we're not really sure. I'm a girl. I have a passionate HATE for maths. I don't know anything at all about them. I was probably reading...

I once read a book written by an Irishman that was a story about an Autistic boy in Nazi Germany which was very interesting. I sent for it through the library again because I don't remember it all that well. What I remember most about the book is that the boy was labeled by the Nazis as "mentally re...

I was never very good at studying for stuff in school. Of course I always got my homework done, but I was terrible at studying for exams, especially when I had to memorize things. When I was in college, then, I REALLY hated studying. My parents gave me a little book in which I wrote down the date an...

On the contrary, Adderall was VERY bad for me. I went nuts when they had me try it. I went back to Ritalin after we discovered this. Really, the best drugs anyone's ever given me is Zoloft, followed by Seroquel. Seroquel knocks me out at night and Zoloft helps me to behave myself during the day. Bot...

I wasn't really too sheltered... my parents told me about things they thought I should know (like drugs and sex, etc.) when they felt I was ready for it. Since I read all the time, I probably knew about it before they told me about things. I could also read just about any book I liked, but I didn't ...

I actually have pretty clear handwriting for someone who has gross-motor/fine-motor difficulties. This is the result of everybody, literally everybody, from my speech therapist to my occupational therapist, giving me writing practices to do. This was when I was about 8 or 9 years old. Cursive is act...

For some reason I belonged in 1973. I always imagine myself in the early or mid 60s. My brother came into existance in 1973 and I followed three years later. I have absolutely no recollection of the 80s and don't care to. I had no understanding of popular culture in those days. I was just a kid. I u...
