I really want to go but I just found out about it over half an hour ago. Really hoping I can go! Is there anyone on here I could share a room with? If you want to know more about me before you decide, here you go: http://www.bebo.com/Profile.jsp?MemberId=8536659875 Also, is there cheap hotels in Lon... |

Is it wrong that I browse these forums even though I am not diagnosed with something? I have not made that many posts, yet I appear to be an "NT", interesting diagnoses doctor. It's not wrong at all, don't worry. Curiosity is a very healthy personality trait, even if it supposedly 'kills the cat' (... |

Not on the spectrum but I don't have any friends and am quite happy. Is WrongPlanet.net for people who generally don't fit in? If so, then that's cool, I suppose. Was just curious to the fact that you appear to be an NT. Most of my very few friends are NT. I see one friend at least once a fortnight... |

I often instantly forget what I have watched or read, which is a shame really because I have read fairly substantial books (like E.P. Thompson's 'The Making Of The English Working Class') only to be left with a rough idea of what they were all about.
I hope that answers your question! |

Communication has always been an issue with me. It became an even larger one when I moved to the USA with a Scottish accent. It makes me cringe when I have to talk to people I don't know. They are often taken aback when they hear me talk. Their reaction makes me blush  and feel uncomfortable.... |

I grew up in a working class city which once upon a time was a ship building city. For the most part I can ignore the goons and enjoy the city's beautiful architecture, parks and lively atmosphere. There are idiots no matter where you go. Some of the middle class women in my classes at college have... |

Ooh - contentious! I love talking about class (it's one of my obsessions!): I come from a fairly affluent garden suburb; bland, boring and no character. At least these areas you come from have some charm about them. Most of my friends come from working class areas of Aberdeen. I suppose because I'm ... |

While I've heard that many children of engineering and computer-types tend to be aspies, I think it has as much to do with the fact that those folks have the money and the intellect to get their children the early interventions and medical care they need as it does with actual preponderance of case... |

Resurrect this gem of a thread...to be fair we Brits would find it hard to comment on this - 'high schools' and all. Grammar schools? I mean the schools systems are totally different, no? I bet most Brits would say the words Lower Middle Class through gritted teeth, let alone Middle Class. The forme... |

I'm no fan of the current incarnation of democracy though, I think that it needs to be reformed so that only the people who know what's going on in the nation can vote, and there is a constitution regarding the rights of law-abiding citizens. Probably misinterpretation, but is that not like going b... |

I do sometimes wonder that if since discovering I have 'it', I subconciously act like "I'm meant to". Then I reassure myself that my mother told me, after reading a LOT about AS, that I've exhibited these traits for YEARS before any diagnosis. Not all Scorpios are sex-gods, they might like to think ... |

In 1941, our Australian Prime Minister John Curtin, declared in a speech that "Without any inhibitions of any kind, I make it quite clear that Australia turns to America, free of any pangs as to our traditional links or kindship with the United Kingdom" I love this quote because it is signicant to ... |

Never give in — never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy. Winston Churchill Wouldn't mind getting tapes of his speeches, so ... |
