Sometimes auras occur without the headache part of migraines following them. These are known as silent migraines. Sometimes people start getting different types of migraines when they're older. This tends to be either around puberty or mid to late 20s, most often. This is either because of their ty...

The aura you refer to is called a "Scintillating scotoma". I tend to get these on a regular basis as well. Not much that can really be done about it. For me it is not always followed by migraine pain. Sometimes its just the aura and no pain. Either way it is debilitating as it leaves me essentially...

The thread started by theaspiemusician made me wonder. How many of you have Migraines and/or auras? When I was little, I used to get migraines. pretty severe, and lights or sound were a no-no. I'd usually just go to sleep until the ordeal was over. But, for many years now, no migraines. Then out of ...

i could be walking out and about, and suddenly find myself in a reverie from which i emerge several minutes later, someplace else i don't remember journeying to, sometimes a mile away from where i was before. i guess maybe these might be termed "fugue states." I do this sometimes when drivin...

Let's see.... I chew on the inside of my cheeks, lips, etc. I chew the cuticles of my fingernails. Pocket knives, they are good to flip open & closed. I especially like the automatic "out the front" knives that you can rapidly deploy in and out. As mentioned earlier, a "multi tool" is a great pl...

I bite my nails sometimes.....but I don't like how they get all frayed.

I mostly prefer to chew my cuticles....I chew the hell outta them. It looks so bad.

My main thing is chewing the inside of my cheeks & lips. All day, every day. I've worn grooves in my teeth from all the chewing.

I need to wear a shirt with this on it. Maybe then people will stop asking me "what's the matter?" all the time.

No one see the true me, but me. My girlfriend gets to see 90% of the real me. Everyone else gets my best NT impersonation. (Co-workers, acquaintances, etc etc) My few real "close" friends get about a 50-50 mix of NT masking & real me. New people or unfamiliar people who I am uncomfortable with g...

Aspies, can you still hyperfocus after consecutive days of 50-60% of the recommended amount of sleep - assuming, of course, that you normally could? My regular schedule involves going to bed around 2 or 3 AM, waking up at 6:45 AM every weekday. One weekends, I usually stay up all night playing vide...

I'm not very good at multitasking. I can only do one, or maybe two things at a time. But, I'm very good at planning & making efficient use of my time. Micro-management down to the smallest details. And example: I just came back from the snack room at my office. I placed my dollar bill into the c...

I'm not a violent person, but messing with my things is one way to provoke an attack. I'm not talking about just any item. I mean my special interest objects. (My gadgets, computers, video game consoles) The last time this happened was about 5 years ago & I punched a hole in my door because I wa...

Does anyone else have this problem? Any time I see an eye on TV, or look into someones eyes, or even really think about my eyes....they begin to water up. As I'm typing this my eyes are starting to irritate me......because I'm thinking about them. Even the mere mention of "eyes" in a discussion gets...

This is my first time hearing about Echolalia. But I definitely do that. Mostly just in my head.....but if I'm alone I'll do it out loud. (I also mimic the sounds of lots of things. Animals, people, random bumps, ticks, crashing sounds....lots of stuff. I never noticed that I do that until....well.....
