Ugh I hate functioning labels. But when I hear mild Asperger's, I picture someone who can be normal and can control all their aspie traits and can easily make friends and easily have relationships and not struggle in school and not need much accommodations. They can control their obsessions by not ...

Hi everyone - I'm in Cairns Far North Queensland, in my mid 40's married with 7 y.o. boy and a mechanic by trade. Lovely place but over the last 10 years really turning into a bit of a strange blend of redneck hell (ie. hell to me - I hate rednecks) and alternate lifestyle funpark. Services are brea...

Something about the "take me to your leader" comic didn't seem right to me - after a while I've realised that for that to really fit me, the NT person needs to be saying "Do you want to meet our leader?" - with the AS person puzzling about why the NT thinks he's an alien. That fits my own experience...

I'm in (the same kind? ) of dilemma - on the face of it, AS explains SO MUCH - and has the potential to give me a tremendous peace of mind that the things I've dealt with have been for a REASON and the situation has been the way it is for a reason - not just because I've somehow failed to get a grip...

I'm in the same boat - ie. have recently specifically started looking into the possibility I might have AS. A few years ago my mother commented that AS seemed to fit me in many ways - I had heard snippets about it and saw her point but didn't actually feel it worth looking into - sort of earmarked i...

I was sure I'd score "badly" but got 68. My wife got 12. Ok, posted result before reading the full thread -so now I'm back to comment. In the results I got a red line something about literal interpretation - which surprises me as I often feel foolish for being slow to catch on to jokes - and people ...
