No. The way my brain works is the only thing I have going for me. I don't know if this is the price I pay for the gift of creativity but I would rather endure the bad things that come with this than risk losing the good parts.

I get this all the time. I don't do it intentionally, but it seems like I always get pulled aside after a few weeks in a new social group to be told I'm making people uncomfortable. Outliving my retirement and having to work some dead-end job and living paycheck to paycheck. That or wasting away in a nursing home. I honestly don't know which one would be worse.

This I think sums up the question. We can and do lie, but prefer the truth even when that truth is not socially acceptable.

When I was drinking, my mom got sick of me and disowned me and told me she never wanted to speak to me again. I cried uncontrollably for days. It hurt even more than when I found out my father had died. It still does, but I'm coming to grips with it as the time passes.

The reason we haven't been able to get to Mars is that it's guarded by interplanetary trolls. And since the US government doesn't negotiate with terrorists, we won't pay the troll toll.
