Also, if it makes you feel better: "acceptable" doesn't mean "common sense".

It only means it may apply in some cases depending on the free will of the individuals concerned.

I don't like sound when I sleep. I used to have TV or CD on repeat, low volume next to me when I was younger because I liked that. It's been five years I sleep with the lights turned off, window open and I also tend more and more to sleep with the door of the room opened. I like to be aware of thing...
