I agree with Sam. We get into habits of negative thinking and get stuck. Do the things and think the thoughts that make you happy, and life begins to look a lot more uplifting. BTW, has anyone read Victor Frankl's "Man's Search for Meaning?" It might help....

I wanted to be an archaeologist or a teacher. But I had an insane teacher who said I could never be those things and, also had the other kids in the class raise their hands to volunteer other things I couldn't be because I was too stupid.
