Don't stress over situations you have no control over. There's nothing you could have done to avoid that.

When somebody asks you how you are, but they don't actually want to know how you "really" are and are just using it as a greeting.

Being misunderstood isn't the same as being hated. I doubt there are many people in your life who actively hate you. They may misunderstand you or find you a bit weird, but that isn't hatred. For the few who actually do hate you (and we all have them), who cares? Just cut those folk out of your life...

When someone tells me their problems, I tend to assume they want sympathy or solutions. It isn't necessarily true; sometimes they just want someone to listen. Well it's good that you recognise that. Empathy isn't always about taking action, a lot of the time it's simply about being there with them ...

Very common in autism. When a neurotypical feels negative emotions about something, they expect to be validated on an emotional level by their family, friends and peers. Which is why they typically get annoyed or frustrated when we offer them a more logistical solution as they feel we're not meeting...

I'd say facial structure is more visible than facial expressions. I'm not denying that I can be anxious at some times, however, these turning-away looks I get from people happen when I'm walking down a sidewalk or down a hallway and staring from 15 meters (50 feet) away, the person makes a quick gl...

I've reviewed topics on WP before, so I hope it doesn't sound redundant. A quick introduction, I'm 29 and never had a date or first kiss. I feel that being socially awkward has a role to play in this, which is why I hate being on the spectrum. I'd like to know any strategies that may help in dating...

Politics? Is that the thing that they use to keep us all distracted and divided while they make work slaves out of us, rob us blind and ravage the earth for their own personal gain? :| The infamous "they". Well "they" prefer to say "we". You know... to make it seem lik...

For me, this has to be one of the things that hurts the most. Feeling empathetic towards people while they believe we don't feel any empathy for them at all because we can't convey it properly on the surface. I have the burden of my own emotions and everybody else's on top of it. Yet people just thi...

If the suffering is so unbearable and there's simply no place for somebody like me in this world, then would it make logical sense just to leave? I have nobody. No friends, no peers and I've completely estranged myself from my family. I'm having no Christmas because I just have no interest in it. It...

Autism is a disease because now scientists are saying autism is an autoimmune disease and more likely to die from covid or have shortened life spans. It's not exactly a breaking revelation. The auto-immune thing has been known about for quite some time. We're all pre-disposed to higher levels of in...

I hope not. Otherwise that would be extremely depressing. Anything that is well developed here is regressing rapidly under our new banana republic.

I have a real tough time structuring conversations, which generally cause them to fall flat. I'm not one for thinking on my feet, I require time to process the subject matter before I can deliver an appropriate response. Time that just isn't there in real life situations. I should mention that peopl...
