Never by itself. Only when I consciously try to remember a specific song. And even then it's it's not very coherent.

How did you go about getting a diagnosis? What kind of things were you asked or did you have to provide etc? Was it a long process? I went to my regular house doctor and asked for a referral to a psychiatrist because I was in the middle of a 3 year depression that was about to get me killed. I had ...

The article is largely correct in my case. I have never had any use for just talking about my issues. Be it with a friend, a psych or someone else. I don't mind talking about them, but that will strictly be because someone asks and is just interested. I do not expect to gain anything from it in the ...

I am not very particular about where items are located, but I do prefer my room to be as clean and empty as possible. Only recently I tossed out a lot of furniture, including my bed (I sleep on the floor now). I just felt it was in the way. I have no posters or photographs or other things on the wal...

Being on the spectrum will not get you any special treatment in this matter. Nor should it to be honest. Having said that, there are doctors who are willing to assist. You just have to be lucky to find one.

I have always been greatly opposed to dress codes. Specially in work environments. Who cares what I wear, as long as I get the job done? I don't become an employee because of my fashion sense (or lack thereof). I become an employee because the work interests me. Up until now I have always gotten awa...

Once interrupted with the question, many people will find it hard to remember what they were thinking at the point at which they were asked it, I'd have thought. Also, meditation demonstrates how much goes on in the mind that we're not normally fully aware of. To literally think of everything at on...

I've felt like that a few times. It is generally referred to as depression.

It will either pass on its own or you might want to find someone to talk to about it. Perhaps even some meds if things really go downhill.

I have never understood why people would answer 'nothing' to "What are you thinking right now?". I cant even imagine what it's like to not think about anything. Is that even possible? My mind is always racing through what seems like a thousand different subjects simultaneously. There is no rest stat...

I do know there is one person who really appreciates me as a very good friend and I do believe said person will do anything for me. But apart from her words and actions to that effect, I wouldn't be aware of it. Affection like that is not something that registers on a feeling radar or however else i...

I've noticed lately that when I think I'm smiling, I'm actually not. That is to say, to me it feels like I'm smiling quite broadly - but to someone looking at me I appear, at best, to be sneering. Usually my expression just appears neutral even when I think I must look happy. That's not to say I ca...

I used to find writing very difficult. My mind tends to go through a million subjects at the same time. I had difficulty focusing on a single subject long enough to write it down in a coherent fashion. I still do to a degree, but repeated practise makes it better.

You should worry less about what other people think of you and worry more about what you think of yourself and what you want from your life. I know that sounds a bit cliche, but it's true. You will never be able to please everybody. Or even make them understand you. If your older sister is adamant a...

I do believe that childhood and other aspects can have a significant influence on the development of autistic traits. For me personally, I had a very rough youth. I won't go into detail here, but I have developed numerous character traits which are a direct result of my home situation. Mostly the so...

Thinking about separating from my husband. Years of trying and I am not sure that we will ever be able to reach a compromise in regard to our communication. I really wanted to make the marriage work, but if my husband will not respect the differences between us then I don't know what else I can do....

What I find fascinating is that some in this thread are so opposed to the song because it presumably 'throws his shortcomings out there for the whole world to see'. I had an entirely different thought when I heard it. Is it really that hard for some people to believe that some of us might just be si...
