Hey bumble, All of those people who tell you to 'go out and talk to people' are right - that IS how you meet people. But it has very little to do with making friends and keeping relationships going. I know tons of people. I dislike some of them, and I like some of them, but there are only 3 people I...

I don't have kids on the spectrum, but I'd like to weigh in as a 26-year-old woman who has Asperger's. I have struggled with multiple allergies, food sensitivities, and gut issues my entire life. I've been on the GFCF diet for the past three years and it has improved my health in a LOT of different ...

I know this diet doesn't work for everyone, but I've seen significant improvement for myself (26 yo female with Asperger's). For what it's worth, I do test allergic to both gluten and casein proteins. I've had multiple food allergies and intolerances since I was born - when I was 3 I had a scratch-t...

Self-promotion sort of makes me cringe, but if you're bored -- my best friend and I run this magazine: http://epiphanistzine.com/ If anyone likes writing, poetry, or literary magazine-ish sort of stuff, we could possibly use some help in the future as we're starting to get a lot of submissions. PM m...

It sounds vague to say 'don't worry too much about it', but it's really true. I wish I could tell my younger self that it wasn't as big of a deal as I was making it out to be. As far as attraction and love go, that's something that everyone, not just ASD ppl have to figure out - why do you think the...

Mine tend to be psychology or medical related. I try to get everyone I know to take the MBTI personality test. :) I love observing and analyzing people. Others have been: animals (when I was a kid), Star Wars (when I was a preteen), various bands (Matchbox 20 and the White Stripes) when I was a teen...

I don't wear too much makeup, but I love red lipstick. :) I'd definitely be in the more 'feminine' category. I do like dressing up, if the occasion calls for it. For me it's not so much the style of clothes but the tightness/fabrics that can bother me. I hate hate hate shopping for clothes though; u...

All the time. I get told that I 'think too much', I'm 'too serious', I need to 'relax'...AND that I'm 'too emotional'. However, most of these people have also told me that I need to drink more at parties (specifically so I can learn how to stop thinking so much). So not thinking = happiness? Hm. :) ...

These things aren't going to solve your situation or make all of the problems go away, but try to keep them in mind: 1. Who says you're going to end up alone? That's not something worth stressing over. Do you know anyone who can predict the future? I don't. Life is strange, and unexpected things hap...

Hi! I'm a girl with AS. Just a bit of advice - when you tell her how you feel, or you ask her to do something as a date, make sure that you make this clear to her. If you just hang around her hoping she'll notice you're interested, she might pick up on it, she might not. Even if she feels the same w...

I'm the opposite of the stereotype, I guess. I'm female and I've always had a very strong sex drive. :D But at the same time, I'm not attracted to people very often, either because I find them boring or just plain incompatible.

I've taken valerian before too; it gives me CRAZY dreams but it worked pretty well. Good for insomnia.

I just purchased this about 10 days ago and started taking it 2x a day because it's supposed to help with mood swings and anxiety. I've had more anxiety than normal ever since I moved to California this summer, but ever since I started taking the fish oil I've been feeling panicky, overwhelmed, and ...

I did tell him that I like him - somewhere between when he kissed me and when we had that conversation. He said that he likes me too. But then he disappeared for 3 weeks... And now...an update! (Read as 'wtf moment #3249857') This was the conversation when he called me today to make lunch plans: Him...

It's awesome to read about something going so well! Please do keep us updated :D For the record, if I unexpectedly see someone I know in public and I'm not "prepared" to see them, I might do the same thing he did. I've even gone so far as to turn around and just walk the other way before they see me...

He hasn't talked to me at all in the past week, so I figured it was about time to forget about it. However-- He texted me completely out of nowhere today and and asked if I wanted to have lunch with him tomorrow. I'm dying to know what he could possibly say at this point, so naturally I'm going. :) ...
