If you spend every day out with others and socializing I think you become more extroverted over time. The opposite is true - spend weeks of time alone and you become more introverted. That said, people have natural tendencies that predisposed them to one or the other.

It's just her dramatic way of getting back with husband. If she's done it before maybe try calling her first before the cops. But maybe she deserves it for being so melodramatic.

[quote="VAGraduateStudent"My opinion, as someone who has many family, friends, and exes who are aspies- is that you shouldn't worry about this too much. If you're really worried about it, you could record yourself and see if you think they're right. If it bothers you, you can work on it. I guarantee...

Everyone wears a mask, it is just harder for us to maintain and less natural.

Take a vacation from other people, be alone for a while. That usually helps me recover.

I used to smoke daily for a couple years. The hardest part about quitting was boredom, stress, and sleeplessness. You need a distraction such as when you worked freelance. What do you do now for money? Exercise helps, especially if you have a sport you like to do you should try picking it up again. ...

- Weed and alcohol are short-term stress relievers, but leave me more stressed out in the end - Friends, exercise, healthy foods, video games, staying organized and new learning experiences are the best de-stressors I find If you can't get motivated let your mom pay for a therapist to help get you m...

For example, they want to play Battlefield 3 online while i'd rather learn about programming and how the game was made. Playing a game or just goofing off seems like a waste of time. Maybe I've outgrown my friends or something. Anyways, sorry for rambling on. People on WP are the only ones I suspec...

The bigger problem is, I can't imagine other people missing me. As far as I can imagine, they don't miss me. They say they do, but I have no idea when, why and how much, so it doesn't feel real. I totally prefer some formal opportunity to bring us together. That must be this mindblindness that Aspe...

I used to, it's a defense mechanism, probably because you've been hurt in the past and do not understand the way NTs operate.

Anger can then turn into envy and depression, so maybe it is better to be mad.

She probably said 'prosody' or 'intonation'. Pick small phrases to practice intonation. Easy example: instead of saying Aw, yeah, say AWWWWW Yeaaah. By increasing the length and pitch of syllables you can emphasize an expression. I have a monotone voice, except for some stock phrases I use because f...

I'm going to use a chess metaphor, please bear with me. Tonight, it hit me. In social situations, NTs aren't predominantly thinking: they're feeling....Maybe what we should focus on developing is our empathetic side, rather than trying to improve our social "skill set" which is ultimately irrelevant...

Because it is a rite of passage that most people have found someone agreeable for sex and have had sex at that point. If you haven't, there is something wrong with you. No one you knew in the past wanted you enough for sex, there is a good chance you should be avoided. That's the general mindset. I...

interesting question. people are not actually very good at determining this, apparently. they consistently rate themselves "above average" which can't be accurate for obvious reasons. if most people are above average, then that must actually be... average. but ultimately it's kind of irrelevant, be...

Clouldet, most people "miss" other people when they haven't seen them in a long time. Similar to a feeling of nostalgia for a childhood memory like waking up for Christmas, but not as strong. Usually for me the feeling is there, but I can't attach it to a person so I don't think of calling them.
