I think instead of feeling bad for ourselves we should try to solve a mystery and help ourselves. How can we be like them in regards to having fun time and doing well? Does anyone know how the shiny people can take a megaload of classes, party, go social all the time and still make good grades? Do t...

It's personality, if it was determined by Aspergers wouldn't we all be Engineers and computer programers? Who's to say we shouldn't be? I think we need to leave room for those who chose poorly and didn't realize they were on the AS. Interest really does not have a lot to do with ability to do well ...

Yes. It's why I can't perform well as well on live GRE type tests as I do in private - need to get the diagnosis complete and get the special permissions alteration. Class tests where everyone is writing with pen or pencil and at the same time and assuming they are quite and not coughing or sniffing...

For someone who has problems "relating", I can "relate" with everything everyone wrote here. I can talk in class and lounge, but have problems moving talk outside of those realms. I am also really behind on "cultivating relationships" with professors. One is very kind though and gave me compliments ...

My dream is to get my doctorate, but the biggest struggle is to get accepted. I refuse to change my research interests, my personality, etc. just to "conform" to some grad school's expectations. I am very jaded about the whole modern grad school experience, because I've found over the last couple o...

I'm posting a longer post later for both my elementary age son's benefit and mine. But for now here's an overarching response. Minimize competitiveness, social favors and rewards, and visual/auditory distractions Both my son and I love inspirational teachers who have a lot to offer, but the more the...

I'm in a profession that attracts shy people, yet excelling requires that you be good with people. The person who can talk the client into believing he is the best CPA in the world will do better than than the one who actually is the best CPA in the world. Because regardless of how good your work i...

and broke the frame my bachelors was in. You may ask what I gained by doing this. Well, they are completely worthless, and I needed to let out some rage without cutting myself again. I will say this. I'm jealous. You managed to create a scene here and get 6 pages worth of responses, while my posts ...

I have to say that I'm Canadian so school cost almost nothing. USA cost of education is ridiculous and it's probably due to the non-interventionist ideology of Americans. College is obviously not a scam. Here is why many people end up with bad jobs after going to college : - They chose an extremely...

Good luck with funding once you are in. Thinking about dropping out because I can't afford to go into debt, and because if I don't get offered funding, it must mean because I am the least worthy or desired to receive it, so if I am on the bottom, what's the point? Time to change fields to something ...

My quick response: 1. Stay close to your field; don't diverge too much. you'll need for your new direction to make sense in order for employers to understand it, however, arcwelders are always in demand and they don't really care about your history so to speak. That means no MSF - If you go back, ge...

My first time going gluten free over 4 years ago was hard; I had anxiety and major withdrawal which should be enough to tell you something's up right. I never had noticeable neurological withdrawal from meat or anything else I went without for a few days. I tried it again last summer until a few day...
