It's possible it could be wrong diagnosis, it does happen. It's sad to hear the army discriminates like that cuz to be honest, people with autism (at least some) do better when someone is ordering them rather than having to think too much and you don't have to worry about social issues too much in m...

Well, I don't think it's black or white or should be taken too literally. There's certainly nothing wrong with self-protection if you come in the presence of a bully. However, I have found that alot of people i've known (not all) but alot manipulate/lie alot to get what they want and/or to hurt some...

I am if it's like only 1, 2, or 3 people, but any more than that would be too overwhelming. it's not really a shyness, cuz im definitely not. its just too overwhelming if its too many people at once. can't 'multi task' for lack of better word. Too many people is also tiring. Hard to explain it.

you can generally assume that homelessness is more common among mentally disabled people, I suspect the physically disabled get more support. Yes! Exactly. It's a devastating process trying to get through the Social Security process when you simply CANNOT work and you have an "INVISIBLE" disability...

Yes, for me very much so. I am very social, I'm emotional, and I love intimacy - people in person never think i have aspergers ;P i do have struggles like being clumsy and being 'slow' sometimes, but yeah i sometimes feel more on the NT side.

Yes, I've thought about that and have been wondering ways to do that. Especially in my location. The only ones that I've heard of is the 2 farms, one in North Carolina and one in Ohio. (Full Spectrum Farms) They have them set up on a farm which is cool (something I've always thought of) since most h...

I agree with the job list. However I am really trying to clarify the theory that aspies don't empathise. I have all the other so called aspie traits but I over empathise with others. I have done enormous amounts of training and can read social ques now if looking for them but have always struggled ...

It's sweet that you offer reassurance to her, cuz that's important. Sadly though, I do agree with one of the responses above - once trust has been broken, it's really next to impossible to get it back. I don't think she's purposely trying to be a 'control freak', I think that she is trying to get th...
