Its taken awhile for us to find a dentist that our son trusted. He's never had a cavity but has only lost two teeth and is 12yoa. His mouth is to small for all his teeth and we are looking to get a lot of them pulled. We let him decide who he wanted as a dentist and who is is comfortable with.

Kay, if you ever get a dx on his growth, I'd love to know. My son is 12 and weighs only 52 lbs and is the size of a 7yoa. He was only 16 lbs when he was a year old. I do know when he was on Adderall for ADHD taken with Strattera, he stopped growing for 4 years. The specialist said it was because of ...

If he's not on meds, he may need to be if he was dx with ADD or ADHD. Sounds like he has it with not being able to focus. Some parents are against medicating their child. I know we were but he was having so much problems in school that after he was put on them, it was the best thing for him. Consist...

My 12 yoa son has been a worry wart and OCD since a toddler. We always thought of it as odd for a three year old to be worried about wars in the world. That's until we found out he had AS. But now his worries are worse as a young adult. He gets very upset about the possibility of a tornado hitting o...

The two meds together was a nightmare (adderall and strattera) but when we did his tests because he didn't grow, the specialist told us that one of adderalls side effects was stopping growth. So we went with the strattera and haven't had any side effects except for not sleeping which he has done tha...

My works insurance covers his medical needs. But when my husband lost his job for awhile, we went to medicaid to help for his prescriptions. Even with the co pay, it was costly a month. It was the state that wouldn't help him. He's had an IEP since pre school. The schools have been great for it, but...

My husband and I were sooooooo against putting our son on meds until we knew how much he struggled in school. He has severe ADHD and OCD. We started on Ridalyn then to Adderall at the highest mg's. Then our old doctor did the worse thing possible. He put him on Adderall and Strattera at the same tim...

New Mexico is great when it comes to their IEP's. They get a lot of funding and grants with children in special ed catagories. We had that in the bigger school systems when we lived in the city. But now that we are in a small town with no secluded special Ed and no knowledge of AS, it's been a strug...

My pregnacy was a nightmare. Lost a silent twin in the third month. Had Thyroid toximia in the 5th month. My son was born at 34 weeks. He was healthy except for being born with severe Hypo Spadia which took 2 eight hour operations to fix. I can say there was a lot of worry and stress in the pregnacy...

06xrs hit on something I came across. When applying for medicaid for his meds, they said they would not cover him with the diagnosis of AS. It was on one of their list as a pshycological disability than medical and they wouldn't cover it. But since he had seizure disorder when younger, he no longer ...

My 12yoa son was probably diagnosed a couple of years ago with AS but the family Dr. wouldn't put it on "official paper" that he has AS although he's a classic case of AS. We live in a small town with a very small school that knows nothing about AS, I also being new at this, but in order for them to...
