My first impression is that the site appears to be geared towards neurotypical parents and autistic children, like nearly all autism resources. And as usual when parents and family members are the main focus group of a site, there is a certain "autism speaks" vibe that I, as an independently living...

I can't help, but I sympathize. I love sex, but "talking dirty" has no appeal.

So, first off, I like to have an orgasm as much as the next person, but when it comes to sex, I really don't have much, if any desire, which may be a part of the problem. Anyway, to get to the point, my boyfriend(NT) keeps asking me to talk dirty to him, and I can't make it come out without sounding...

So, I just started a new job a couple of days ago(which I already dislike, by the way) and it's a management position working with people with varying disabilities. Anyway, I've done direct care for other agencies before and never had a huge issue with much of anything. At this new position, I keep ...

Disconnected...kind of like I'm trapped in a glass cube with everything else around me rushing past at a million miles per hour. It's like I can see everything around me, but am to overloaded to relate to it, and either no words will come out or I can't get the right words to come out. I usually fee...

Are you talking about Central Auditory Processing Disorder. I just heard about this term a few days ago on this site (forgot which discussion board). I think I may have CAPD. When I hear certain words I hear them different then other people do. When I try to say them in my head I still cannot say t...

Everyone reading this post: take a large plate and put 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of starch (corn starch) It forms a "non-newtonian fluid" which sometimes acts like a solid and sometimes like a liquid. It changes texture when pressure is applied or release. If you have tactile sensory preferences...

I'm extremely tactile and love anything silky or with tassles or anything of that sort that I can run my fingers through...it's not enough for me to just touch things though, I have to have them go between my fingers. I just always crave that sensation. I also twirl my hair in between my fingers and...

This describes to me on how it feels like when i'm overstimulated. I get dragged into myself, because i had too many stimuli. If i'm way high overstimulated this feeling's getting so bad i experience something that's called depersonalization (where i've got the feeling i'm not existing anymore, lik...
