I live in the U.S. Does anyone have any idea which states or cities have the most resources for people like us? I live in Missouri, and want to move to the desert (likely Arizona) in a couple years.

If a person can't bond with other people (for a myriad of reasons), what are the odds he can bond with a dog well enough for the dog to protect him from shady people?

Is your bike for on or off road riding? Join a cycling club?
My bike is an on road only (called a "utility" bike"), and I don't think there's a cycling club around here. *sigh*

Blue and Orange, you could email the outdoor group organizers and ask if anyone in the group would be willing to pick you up? You can offer gas money and travel to a convenient place in the city to catch a ride.

That is a good idea. I'll probably end up needing a car eventually, though.

What kind of meet ups are we talking about? Shady characters? I mean hell there are groups that just meet up to watch TV shows like Doctor Who etc, you might have to pitch in food wise, crowd is likely to be nerdy/geeky which is easier to engage than something like football parties. No luck outside...

P.S. I have started wondering if it is better to die in a car accident after improving my life (or trying to, anyway) than of old age after a lifetime of no human interaction.

In much of the USA a car is requirement to be a "real" adult, Europeans will never understand. Without that car and lacking any public transport you're basically an invalid. I don't agree with this but it is true. B&O do you have any hobbies or interests that don't require a big up front cost? ...

I live in the middle of downtown Springfield, MO. I've been trying to think of different ways to meet people. I have an account on meetup.com. My problem is that most social opportunities aren't just about socializing, they're more about some sort of hobby, event, or something like that. Additionall...

I mean like a dually pickup, 3500hd, all-terrain pickups, things like that. However, I have just learned that R.V.'s are probably better for what I want. I wanted a truck on steroids thinking it was safer than other cars as far as other drivers around me not having basic driving skills, and an all-t...

I am currently taking four classes, and a fifth one will start on the twelfth. The fifth will be a semester's worth of work in half the time, on top of my four other classes. Without all these classes, I am less than full time. While I've always been full time, I've never put a lot of effort into ac...

Okay, OP, I've read two of your threads. You aren't just paranoid. You're insane. You're EXTREMELY rude to people who are trying to help you and answer your questions, and you're incredibly non-receptive of damn good advice. If anyone here is a "moronic twat," it's you. The fact that you're willing...

Let's step into the shoes of the owner of the bike shop. They are not just selling bikes. They are selling their expertise. The bike shop with a knowledgeable person who can outfit you with a great bike because of their knowledge of bikes might have bikes that are selling more expensively than you ...

I don't know how old you are, but when I was there, St.L wasn't bad. You didn't want to be down on the riverfront late at night, but otherwise it was pretty tame. I moved when I was not quite seventeen, though, so things could have changed since then. I moved to Springfield on August twentieth, two...

I really think you're worrying about being taken advantage of too much, though. Having been a foster kid in St. Louis, one of the worst cities in the country, sometimes I can't help it. I grew up in St. Louis, but I was in the 'burbs (Kirkwood) so my experience might have been a little different th...
