His teacher is pretty good at working with us. I've explained the way he is & the things that I KNOW frustrate him. She really does seem to try and help. Hopefully, this doctor can get things figured out. |

His previous doctor prescribed it because he was having meltdowns/tantrums regularly. He would get frustrated at school over the smallest things. When the teacher tried to talk to him about the issue, he would lose it. He would cry, break crayons & insist he couldn't do what was being asked of h...

We just recently switched his doctor. I was told, by his previous doc that the Risperdol was simply a mood stabilizer. I was told there would be no issues/conflicts. One of the first things his new doc did was change his dosing schedule. He now takes the Strattera at night, instead of in the morning...

Honestly, I'm not certain. I know we've probably had the whole "it's not made for that" talk, but I can't remember what it was about. It's just harder because things don't click with him the way they do w/ our DD.

I already explained that she didn't break any rules, so I do feel it would only confuse him.

I'm assuming he thought that because I've never used them for the microwave. Yes, I informed him that they could be used for both.

I asked him why he was so upset & he said it wasn't made for that. He said that it's for when I cook & not for the microwave.

He doesn't like it when given rules are altered or his sister breaks rules. He's pretty good about following rules that he remembers but we've found that he often breaks rules & then says he didn't mean to or forget. I find that odd as he has a very good memory.

We've discussed metal & why it isn't to be used in the microwave. Aside from that, there hasn't been a discussion. I'm really not sure why it seemed to be such a big deal to him.

First meltdown of the day & I'm utterly confused. :( My DS just came flying into my room, saying that his sister was using a pot-holder to get her oatmeal out of the microwave. He was extremely upset, as it's not made for that, it's made to get stuff out of the oven. When I let him know that I d...

Yelling @ him guarantees a meltdown, so that's a no-go. We talked about it & hopefully it will stop.

Yes, it does. Today, his principal called me. I guess a couple wks ago, he moved a chair in music class. When she asked him to move it back, he broke down & when another kid tried to move it back, Jay shoved him. I don't know why he moved the chair, but he certainly didn't want it back where it ...

Oh, there's no question that he's bored. I tried to talk to the school about placing him in "advanced" classes but they said he's too young. Boredom doesn't explain the other issues though.

So, after speaking to my son's teacher today, I'm doubtful that that it can be AS that my baby has. He's 7 years old, btw. The teacher says that he is the smartest kid in her class, makes eye contact, has friends and doesn't seem to have any issues other than w/ homework or instances where he feels ...
