I don't usually have contact with them, so don't know anyone I could ask. Haven't even ever met most of them. I like the big bag of crisps idea, as I could just eat a big bag of crisps if people were not sharing :-S and something else for me, that wouldn't be shared. Added bonus of crisps is that th... |

When asked to "bring something to eat" to a work-related picnic... what would you bring? Should it be shareable? |

I've never even considered whether being only average at poker is due to me possibly having a bad "poker face". I usually concentrate on my own cards and don't even look at the other players' faces. Hmmm... maybe :? I'm also really good at blackjack though... which doesn't require the face or body-l... |

What do you do with worn but not really dirty clothes?
I can't put them back in the cupboard, although I'm told I should. |

I went through all those feelings too when I was diagnosed a couple of years back. A counsellor told me: "Don't become the diagnosis. Use the knowledge about you that you gain from the diagnosis". At first it sounded silly, simply and obvious... but it makes more sense later. |

Did they give you any verbal indication? How long do you have to wait for your results? They gave me my diagnosis at the end of the session and a take-home letter detailing diagnoses and therapy/treatment options were appropriate/available. They'll be sending a full report to the referring doctors ... |

Yes, they did confirm the previous psychiatrist's diagnosis of Asperger's, but also diagnosed a few other issues (which I'd never have imagined) that seem to be interwoven with the Asperger's. Some of which I will be able to get help with!! :D So feel it was well worth going for diagnostic investiga... |

Getting my equilibrium back after Friday's assessment. It was 6 hours of intense investigation by a team of 3. I'd typed up a wad of notes for reference so I wouldn't miss TOO much. Ended up giving them the notes so they could read them during my rest periods. Would never have gotten through all my ... |

My GP referred me to a psychiatrist for Asperger's assessment. Psychiatrist appointment for ASD assessment on NHS took place in January 2012. The psychiatrist was certain that I have Asperger's, but apparently a diagnosis here needs to be confirmed by a specialist unit in London. Don't know if this ... |

Altogether a dreadful piece of writing in a sensationalist paper. The adjectives used in the report would make a pulp-novelist proud (IMHO)
Clearly I'm not going to buy a copy of their newspaper any time soon |

Do we really need another 'Autism Speaks'? This. But don't get me wrong: I have no opinion on whether "Autism Speaks" is good or bad. As far as doing good deeds is concerned, I have enough trouble doing the things I'm supposed to be doing as it is. Would trying to make an international unionised bo... |

"aspie union" sounds almost as unlikely as "military intelligence"... so that's a "no" from me. |

bnky, what happened in your first short appointment, if you don't mind telling me? Firstly I was surprised that I wasn't given any of those screening tests to complete ( they were later sent to me by the place where I'll be going for confirmation. He had a report from my GP, as well as the report I... |

Not really that short. My first "proper" diagnosis was an hour appointment. Less than half way through the psychiatrist was already convinced I have aspergers. Not sure he would have wanted to have me talking at him for 5 hours;-$ That said, I am now still waiting for another appointment where my di... |
