Apart from the top of my head, the only place I don't mind having hair is my nether regions. Rather than shaving though, I use a trimmer (on the lowest setting). That way no shaving rashes or ingrown hairs. My main annoyance is how fast it grows back, and I'm far too distracted with other things to ...

I'm setting up a facebook group for Autistic Entrepreneurs, and was about to share a link in "General Autism Discussion" when I thought "Is this allowed?".

So, thought I'd check here first :)

Ah, I'm not thinking tonight. Original number/New number = Percentage change from original.

Sooo...

Tax Offset Multiplier = Needed Salary After Tax / (Needed Salary After Tax * (1 - Tax Rate))

Needed Salary Before Tax = Needed Salary After Tax * Tax Offset Multiplier

Say you need to earn £1000 to cover your monthly expenses, excluding tax. You pay tax at a flat rate of 20%. To offset a flat rate of tax of 20% you have to increase your needed earnings by 25% (1250 * 0.8 = 1000). How would you work out the needed multiplier to offset the tax (25%) without using tr...

Think of it not as a scale on which you occupy one point, but a scale in which you can occupy a range. Sexuality is fluid - up to a point - for many people. I probably range between being a 3 and a 6. Sometimes however I think we shouldn't bother with labelling ourselves at all, as frankly, does it ...

Hi, I tend to feel really anxious about making phone calls. A client has not been replying to emails and has been stalling payment of what they owe, driving me into a very bad financial position. I tried to call them earlier, and they didn't answer. I decided to try again, and this time when they di...

I was going to start a website dedicated to telling the story of being autistic from the perspectives of people with autism. It was gong to be called "We Are Autistic", but it looks like someone else has beaten me to it. That website seems to consist of blank pages only. Still, I can't us...

Why not set up your own Autism charity directly competing with Autism Speaks while providing parents and autistic people with an alternative voice?

...the kid's been invited to the White House for his trouble. The Clock Bomber being invited to the White House is exactly what one might expect from the Muslim in Chief. Are you for real? a) It wasn't a bomb. b) Obama isn't a Muslim. c) Even if Obama was a muslim, SO WHAT!? There is nothing wrong ...

Oh, another interesting anecdote. Someone in the year above me once accidentally made nitro glycerine when they used the wrong acid in a chemistry class experiment... The school did have to call the police, but only for it's safe disposal. They killed two birds with one stone and the old school shed...

I think this TED talk about terrorism is perhaps relevant to my earlier point, if we were to see Autism Speaks as a terrorist organisation :P

Watched a video of him speaking earlier and he seemed potentially on the spectrum. Would make sense as a) he seemed to not understand how others might perceive his creation, b) his talent at that age for electronics would be quite likely due to a special interest and c) a special interest would expl...

I have started to view Autism Speaks as a symptom rather than the cause of our problems. Until governments and educational institutions around the world can provide the proper care, understanding, respect and accessibility to the Autistic community, parents of children with Autism will have to fight...

Hi, So, despite some of my problems I am an overall quite motivated and energetic person. Where many people would talk about doing something, I'm not afraid to just go out and make it happen and learn along the way. One of the things I set up was a regular event where bloggers from my area could mee...
