| Add on to those having issues with spam in PM (private messages) on the chat, typing /mode yournickhere +R will take care of that issue, if you are using the webclient, you'll have to type it out each time you log in... if you use an IRC client like mIRC, etc... usually most will have an autoperform... |

| If one of the regular users has issues connecting, they can PM one of the ops of the channel and they can set an exception on that user's IP so that it goes around being caught in the ban. |

| As to the OP of the thread. The spammer has been using an open proxy to spam the channel, it hasn't been easy to contain it and the ops are doing their best to deal with it. |

| If you register your nick, you can get into the channel. Type on IRC: /msg nickserv help register or /join #freenode and they can help you. | There has been some spammer attacks, best idea is to register your nick with the IRC server the chat is hosted on. |

| The chatroom has had a lot of issues with spam attacks lately so it was set to being accessible by registered users only. This hopefully will help you, if you have any other issues, when you connect, all you need to do is /join #freenode and the staff there should be able to help you through the pro... |
