140lb: I am bad with social cues, so I'm not sure if I've offended you or not. I think I have. If so, I apologise: no harm meant. :) digitalb0y: Interesting article. Hugh does come across as quite Aspergic. In particular his "cold, brutal logic" and disregard for feelings and social norms. It seems ...

I do have a friend I've long suspected is an undiagnosed aspie, and he frequently compares himself to Hamlet.

It wouldn't be particularly special, it's just a topic of interest. Why would anything be special?

Does anybody think Mark Oliver Everett from Eels has Asperger's? My case: 1) His autobiography and lyrics (I know you can't judge from lyrics, and they must reflect the human condition if they're so popular, but - like Morrissey - he persists) talk a lot about alienation, not having friends, saying ...

24 years old I've just graduated with a BA in Literature/Film, Currently in Germany for a while, learning the language and writing. My other interests are music (though I'm a bit out of touch at the grand old age of 24), cultural theory (Judith Butler, Walter Benjamin), I suppose a bit of environmen...

Hallo,

Yeah, I think leaving the relationship would be the best thing. I know it's tough, especially after that much time, but there will be someone better out there.

Someone who's in jail for murder is going to attract chaos; and I'm guessing, as an aspie, you're not a fan of chaos.

I don't agree about saying "I need you." Obviously it's different with different people, but that would scare me a bit.

Anyway, he could just want to talk about privacy etc, it's not necessarily a break-up. Wait and see what happens.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I go to an art college, which is where the National Film School is housed, so I know a few of the students and a lot of them are pretty mad. I'm still undecided between film, or an MA in Screenwriting. I like the point about socialising being based on a common goal (i.e. making th...

I don't know, it sounds relatively harmless to me. It's hard to say without having first-hand experience of the situation but I'd guess it's a friendly joke. I wouldn't confront her about it. If she knows about your Asperger's maybe you could gently and politely ask her what she meant by it (make su...

Hey guys, I'm going into final year of an English/Film Studies degree, and I'm considering following that up with going to film school. Just wondering if there are any aspies here who've done that, and how did they find it? I know I'd be good at the technical and artistic aspects, and I figure if I ...

Okay, I may have jumped the gun in setting a deadline. I've set up a facebook and twitter for the group. While I'm building that I might have to let the entries trickle in until there's more of a presence.

I've never done this before, so it may take some time.

I'm going to be doing a 4 week Intensiv Course in the Goethe Institut in Germany over the summer. Has anyone else done anything like this, and how did they find it? Specifically for the Goethe Institut, I can ask in Goethe Dublin next week but I'll see if anyone here knows first - does anyone know h...

Hey guys, I'll PM you all now in a second. I should make it clear to everyone that the zine will be 100% fiction. Short fiction, and comics. The reason for this is that I think it's better to focus on filling a niche, rather than trying to do everything at once. So there won't be articles or columns...
