I do not have a child so I shall not be doing it but I shall be following it.

I was hoping to get adults to do it for themselves. It bothered me that it was catered only to kids. That's why when I did mine this morning I added the hashtag "adultsonthespectrum"

Hello all, I found a photo challenge on Facebook and Instagram called "#everydayautism". I think it would be awesome to see adults participating in this and not just parents with autistic kids. You can find out more about it here: http://www.atypicalfamilia.com/2014/02/everydayautism-photo-day-insta...

I was misdiagnosed with BPD. The standard treatment for it is mood stabilizers and DBT classes. DBT way developed by Marsha Linehan. She has a skills training workbook that outlines the program. I would suggest looking at that and seeing if it would be helpful before seeking a diagnosis. Being diagn...

There needs to be a word for a specific feeling of loneliness when you are surrounded by other people

If you are so obsessed with LEGO that you know that it should always be capitalized and can not be plural. Also seeing it incorrect makes your skin crawl and it becomes impossible not to correct it!

In my case, despite having an advocate supplied by the state and then getting an attorney for my appeal, I've found that people are not actually telling me which impairments are relevant and which impairments are not when trying to explain why I can't work, so I am worried that I will need to have ...

I am 27. I have ASD, Severe anxiety, Major Depressive Disorder, PTSD, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Fibromyalgia. It took me over 2 years to get on SSDI. I had to appeal multiple times. It finally got to the stage of a hearing. I totally broke down at the hearing. The judge made an on the ben...

I grew up with NT behaviour expectations, which I did my best to meet, though I completely missed the point of a lot of it. I think I succeeded in pulling off the appearance of an odd/different NT. However the effort it took and takes from me to maintain this is too much, totally unsustainable, and...

I should have been more specific. I am looking for a general practitioner. I have a psychiatrist but she had no suggestions for a GP. I contacted the autism society of my state and the only resources they had were for pediatricians. Since I'm 27 that won't work.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to find an autism friendly doctor for adults? I have been putting off going to a doctor for too many years and all I can find are pediatricians.

My parents tried to hyper socialize me as a child. I am 27 and was diagnosed with Asperger's a few months ago. It turns out my parents knew of the diagnosis and never told me. They spent my entire childhood trying to train the aspie out of me it did more damage in the long run.

I have a huge problem with this. I would always pick out the half dead christmas trees when I was a kid so that they wouldn't get left behind. If I pick up a dented can in the store I have to buy that one because I feel badly for it if I put it back. I look for stuffed animals that are defective bec...

I constantly talk to objects. Plus I have something that would make you feel a whole lot less crazy. I think inanimate objects have feelings. Rationally I know this is impossible. However, it has been a problem that I have had since I was a kid. For example, I would always get the Christmas tree tha...
