I like to have weight on me when I sleep - I'll pile up as many blankets as I can. I remember as a kid I'd have as many as 17 blankets on my bed. There is such a thing as a weighted blanket, supposedly it's good for calming people on the spectrum. There are several companies who offer these. I googl...

This is very interesting.
I just googled "autistic girl types" and got several results, so try that. Just make sure your resources are valid before you quote them.
Good luck with this! |

I've just been diagnosed and I'm 54. The way I look at it is that I'm thankful to find out there's a reason why I see the world the way I do, and I'm embracing it.

I have a hard time calling people I don't know well by their first names. I usually go with Mr., Mrs., Ms, or Professor, Doctor, etc. I'm very uncomfortable calling them by their first names even when they tell me to. I've been married 30 years and can't call my parents in law by their first names o...

I have problems answering the door and the telephone. I won't do it unless I am expecting someone, and then I check to make sure it's that person. I have caller ID on my telephone and most of the time let the call go to the voicemail. Strangely, I'm okay at work with the phone. I can handle business...

It depends on what your strengths and interests are. I am very detail oriented so I have a degree in accounting, a degree in piano tuning, and I also proofread and edit. These three areas of interest work well for me, and I'm always able to find work in at least one of the areas.

So sorry. It might take a while before you can feel anything. I was numb when my mom died and it took a couple of months before I really felt anything.

Congratulations! I went back to school in my late 40s, got an accounting Bachelor's degree, and I'm halfway through a Master's degree in accounting. I do much better in the classroom than online, but that's just my personal preference. It was a lot of work, very challenging, but at the same time ver...
