My son only seems to have a problem with my husband's eating and breathing. I sat down right next to him on the couch and ate a pear and crackers last night. He didn't even notice! Wow. Thanks so much to everyone for the information! I did look up Misophonia and that does sound a lot like what is going on--especially since it started just in the last year. I'm so glad to have this insight--I can already tell I'm going to be spending a lot of time reading these forum discussions!

We usually do let him eat in another room. However, our house has an open floor plan so even if he's watching tv in the living room and my husband is eating in the kitchen, he'll still throw a fit!
