I started college right out of high school but a short way through my 2nd year, I abruptly stopped going. I've finally built up the courage will and motivation to go back at the age of 27. I am finishing my Associate in Science (ha guy with AS gets his AS) from a community college with intent to tra...

I am going back to college in Jan. I started right out of high school, finished 1 year, attempted a second, and stopped. I'm 27 now and I guess its the birth of my daughter last year that has motivated me to return. I am pursuing a masters in Telecommunications Systems Management.

I am wondering what some of your experiences with empathy or the lack there of are. For me, it seems like its a very intermittent thing. Many times when emotions are implicated whether on TV or in conversation, I often experience a sort of numbness. Like I don't see what the big deal is. I'm often a...

Thank you all for your suggestions. It means a lot. I will have to get some of my music together to share here. My ear and talent are always a work in progress. I started REALLY listening to music in 4th grade and started playing guitar in 5th grade. I met a man who owned a local studio who was kind...

Welcome I understand what you mean about "the little things" that make you suddenly being grouped into a condition. for 27 years I was told I had OCD and Turrets Syndrome, but I always felt it didn't match up quite right, it didn't explain why being social was so hard and awkward, it didn't explain ...

Thank you for your words. It is great to know people out there are like me and can relate to the very core of my strange little self. I really find comfort in that fact. I truly thought I was the only person who felt this way inside. I'd not consider myself an expert musician either, I can play a lo...

My eyes welled up as I read this thread. So many of you out there feel exactly like I do and have lived exactly like I did. The "mask" we all speak of to me is more like a suit of lead. Its very heavy, very uncomfortable, but its the only protection I have, its the only way for me to blend into the ...

Hello all, I'm new to this whole world that seems to be mine as well. I'm 27 years old and all of my life I've "felt" different. I can interact with people, and sometimes even come off as perfectly normal, but I always feel the interaction is lacking. The song "Dumb" by Kurt Cobain sums it up very w...
