A simple brain trace can identify autism in children as young as two years old, scientists believe. A US team at Boston Children's Hospital say EEG traces, which record electrical brain activity using scalp electrodes, could offer a diagnostic test for this complex condition. EEG clearly distinguish...

I am a little amazed nobody is commenting on this video. Shankerdass is heading a nueroscience research group in Havard and made the following finding from the team's research Around 50% of all children diagnosed with autism are found not to have autism but instead have brain firing/discharge that ...

I think everyone should watch it. It can show us there's one more gate to explore, and one more hope left for those who really suffer because of their disorders.

Developmental disorders in children are typically diagnosed by observing behavior, but Aditi Shankardass knew that we should be looking directly at their brains. I have a lot of homespun ethics ideas that the mainstream seems to ignore. For example, when somebody gives you a job, you each sign a contract which defines the rights and responsibilites of both parties. Now to my mind, neither side has any right to unilaterally change that contract, not ever. I ...

I think most of your description would suit me as well. Except there's no way I go to social events, specially if that implies going to crowded discos or anything similar. I guess you can be an aspie to some degree. In fact I think many people have a really distorted idea of what beings an aspie is ...

Don't you just love a cat purring or a dog approaching you to be cuddled? Now imagine the same behavior from a human. We don't really know how a savage human would behave, but the ones who are educated ever since they're born have motivations in their actions. At least most of them do. So that affec...

This is something which has always been part of my life to be honest. But I must say it turned much harder when, some years ago, I spent a huge amount of time thinking about what it is and what's the best procedure to get the answers. Justice obsesses me. Whatever I do, whatever the circumstances ar...

Sometimes it's difficult to see the connection between the dots in someone's career. Like Roger Wolcott Sperry. He...

I'll spend many hours reading about things that I'm very interested in (almost like studying but without meaning it) and leave my duties untill there's no way to avoid them. That's...

I guess it depends on my mood and at times I think it doesn't distract me at all, but I remember going mad at a classmate of mine during a modern history test some years ago because of rubbing his hand against the paper while writing.

Well I thought this is the best subforum to post this topic since it's about college althought not directly connected to social life, but to academia terms.
