I periodically and tearfully go through and throw out my old collections. I currently have about 200lbs of fabric and maybe 20lbs of wool yarn. My husband (who claims to not be an aspie, but it's painfully clear to all who know him), keeps bringing home bits of mass spectrometers. He even has 2 he b...

I have a really hard time working as well. It was easy when I was a student b/c I'm smart enough that I could still get decent grades if I couldn't leave my room for a few days or whatever, maybe got a new obsession I HAD to think about only for a few days, got depressed and stayed b3d for a few day...

I NEVER said just use by US citizens wasn't OK. Unfortunately, that is apparantly a MINORITY of those involved. Steve I'm sorry, but that's just not true. In my relatively short lifetime, I have been very poor. I was a single mom for a while, while going to college. I got food stamps, cash assistan...

yes, but a lot of our gender ideas come from the basic differences in the way men and women think b/c of their biology. Gender isn't completely a social construct, a lot of it is based on sex.

I used to think gender was a social construct, but I don't anymore. Some of it is, and some of it isn't, and there are always exceptions to the rules. But men and women are very different biologically and in how they think (for the most part--talking about averages here, as I said, there are always ...

When I was younger, I would kick a door/wall/etc if I stubbed my toe to make the other side "even." I'm not that bad anymore. ;)

Have you had something with artificial food coloring in it? I get crazy and hyper and then a headache and slurry when I have something w/ artificial colors in it. Might be something to look into.

I think it's more likely that he was schizophrenic than autistic. A lot of the outward signs (pacing rocking) can show up in either.

I think many vaccines are a good idea, but I don't think they should be required by law. I think that's going too far.

I'm sure that's a stupid question as I already know several people do. Anyway, I have been majorly depressed lately. I finally sucked it up and went to see a therapist on Friday. I haven't been to one since the psychiatrist I saw in college told me I was lazy and that's why I wasn't doing as well as...

Ever since I was a child, I've found it hard watching people do embarassing stuff in movies. Naturally, you tend to identify with the characters while watching movies, and whenever they do something really inappropriate, it's like my mind screams "that's wrong!" and I'm often forced to look away. T...

I'm a "housewife" and I'm very happy with it. It is actually easier to go to work, put the kids in daycare, etc, than it is to stay at home dealing with 3 children (2 are aspies, 1 "just" has sensory issues. I realize you don't have kids, so staying at home will actually be easier for you than worki...
