This is a very difficult point for me, because after all it's not 'polite' to get angry, but I am. Did it ever occur to you that every part of you rebels because it's WRONG? There's nothing wrong with learning to front when necessary, I'm pretty good at it myself. But when I get home do you think I ...

BuyerBeware's suggestion actually made me feel physically ill. I can confidently say that if I had been treated that way - oh wait, I was - but if they had actually succeeded in poisoning my fantasy world, I would not be alive today. A spirit of shame and self-loathing isn't the kind of 'gift' you s...

I was never a skin picker, but if you rub your fingers together, maybe you could invest in a worry stone? They're pretty cheap (maybe three dollars or less) and NT people carry them around too, so it won't even stand out that much when you fiddle with it.

It's like this: I'm definitely straight I'm definitely gay I'm definitely bi. <--- This one. ;p To be bisexual does not mean you can't make up your mind, it means you know you like both, yeah? Sure, it can be a phase for some people, but for others it's not. I identified as lesbian first, but eventu...

http://psychology.ucdavis.edu/rainbow/html/facts_molestation.html I think I'm going to bump this. >> There is also the fact that young boys and young girls pretty much have the same build and facial structure - very effeminate. If anything, an individual attracted to feminine qualities would be mor...

In my mid it's almost like when I'm asked the question "Who are you?" the answer is "Who do you want me to be?" or "Who do YOU think I am?" There's so very little about me that I can't slip on and off like a mask that when I find something that resonates with me in some way I latch on to it.

I hope the OP doesn't think I'm derailing the thread, but this seemed as good a place to post as any. Realize I'm not trying to minimize anyone's experience - I just want to understand.
Exactly how does one "feel like a man" or "feel like a woman"? I honestly don't understand the concept. |

I find the "What if?" aspect of fanfiction quite interesting. What if this character were in love with this one instead of their canon romantic partner? How would such a thing come about? How would it be expressed? What if this aspect or this moment of the character's history were changed? What if t...

* A good book (my special interest is literature)
* My stuffed dog… I can literally feel the stress drain away.
* Water, swimming in particular.
* A warm drink of any kind, including coffee.
* Music with a cheerful or energetic beat.
* Pressure, like being wrapped tightly in a blanket. |

When I'm with other people, it feels as though there's a glass pane between me and them, or sometimes even as though I'm in a separate room from them or looking at them through a telescope (in a way I can sense, not in a truly visual way - nothing to do with my physical ability to see). Sometimes t...

Assuming the Intense World Theory has some truth to it - at least in the area involving "fear memories" - does anyone think this might have something to do with feelings of stress and anxiety not directly related to sensory issues? I'm particularly sensitive to loud noises, and though my parents wer...
