Sounds like a good plan to me-- sorry, I guess I read my experience into yours, and I agree, "asking point blank" might seem a little harsh at this point if things are going okay. Good luck BTW

Hmm. welcome to the club -- I think a lot of us get some version of that "I thought you were a psychopath" from time to time-- or "I thought you were a total prick" which can be a version of the same thing. Partly for most NT's being "shy" means that you arn't likely to speak in class or do other th...

Well of course its anxiety, but with all due respect to schizoid, I don't think pills would be a great solution, and if you don't experience that kind of reaction with people you aren't attracted to in that way it's probably not according to hoyle social anxiety. A lot of men have the same problem. ...

While obviously there are limits as far as recovery from catastrophic injury etc. are concerned, my understanding is that a number of studies have lately shown that mammalian brain cells do continue to divide throughout the life of an individual, contrary to the previous belief that brain cells stop...

I don't think the underlying issues change, but social demands in particular change dramatically depending on context and as we grow older those contexts change-- e.g a different work place may place more or different demands on you than a previous one.. In addition, one of the things that's said of...

It could be a good thing insofar as it makes aspergers more of a pycho-educational/ social issue in the rather than a "mental disorder" in the psychiatric realm. It really comes down to what services one needs or desires. Not being according to hoyle autistic could reduce some of the problems folks ...

This isn't really news-- people have intuitively known about this for ages, but it is really interesting that scientists are empirically proving what artists have been saying and teaching for years. And while it may be easier for some people, one of the things that's really exciting about drawing is...

A Q-tip works great.
Although I do really like using an actual blending stump for dry media-- It gives you a lot more control than an eraser and you an re work the blended area as much as you want which you can't do if you use your finger because the oil from your hands gets mixed in. |

Sounds like you've got a gameplan, which means that taking a year of to get everything together might be time well spent. The only reason that would be a bad idea is if you don't use the time effectively-- if it means you have a chance to get into a better/more challenging- stimulating college it's ...

Part of the problem is that your dad probably never sees you in the situations where you have the biggest problems, and the archetype image of AS people get in media/popular culture is of "low functioning" "kids" My dad has a lot of AS ch... |

I could be wrong but I'm thinking there are two distinct things going on there. One is simple forgetfullness/laziness/life getting in the wayness-- the case of the person not bringing the movie probably falls in that category, and I think folks on the spectrum are no more or less likely to do the sa...
