Maybe it'd help if somebody videotaped you the next time you had a meltdown. Then you could watch it and evaluate for yourself.

I used to have those alot, still have them, but have gained much more control over it. Trying to explain to people why you get so worked up over small details or - to them - insiginficant things never worked for me. I appologized afterwards, said I just needed some time to cool down, and tried to e...

I dont know how I would be able to feel more secure or safe. It's hard to recommend ways to try to figure this out, as people's circumstances can be so different... plus a person would have to be exceptionally accurate and honest at self-analyzing to be able to direct him- or herself towards a solu...

I mean in all contexts. For example I watched a porn video and saw how I could never compare sexually or visually to a porn actress and so decided i was never going to have sex again. I could not cope with the idea of having sex and being crap at it and ugly looking. This serves me poorly as that m...

I think that some people will find it easier than others to guide their interests, whereas others are probably better off letting their passions grow organically. I myself have discovered that I'm part of the latter. It's kind of hard for me to stick to an interest if I have to force myself to do it...

What I would worry about when leaving whole degrees off my resume is the large time gap that would exist in my employment history, as well as the fact that a simple Google search of my name would quickly reveal info that implies that I got XYZ degree. Does anybody know if educational background come...

go to school, get degree (which may be completely pointless\worthless) write grants to justify your existence, whore yourself to people who have agenda's, produce "Research" that agrees with them in order to assure future grants, become part of the ceaseless academic dishonesty, teach others, prose...

styphon, How long ago were you looking for jobs with a BS in molecular biology, and in what geographical area? How much relevant work experience did you already have when you had just graduated and were looking for jobs?

Great to hear from you as always, MDD123. I hope this past year or so has treated you kindly! If you might be interested in getting some first-hand experience in microbiology, a microbiology lab class could be a helpful way to start out. These classes are available at many community colleges, and ca...

Getting a bachelor's degree in microbiology can certainly lead to a career if you want to go that far. You'll have the flexibility to go into research (technician-level positions) or work in more applied areas of the food, medical and other biological industries. Your work can be with private compan...

Well, biomedical research still mostly focuses on understanding biological processes with the end goal of treating or preventing illnesses, and to the wider medical community ASD still falls under the umbrella of "illnesses". Unless you can find a wealthy philanthropist who's on the spectrum and is ...

The cost of college is way too much for the challenge they provide. For the same price of a 4 credit hour class at $500 per credit hour, $2,000 that is, a person could easily purchase the textbook and all the materials and supplies for probably half of that. Or they could purchase around 10 to 20 h...

Am I wrong? How do I balance letting him make his own mistakes that comes with becoming a young adult, versus taking control and directing someone who can't see the big picture yet? I agree with Janissy and annotated_alice. You'll have to be very careful about taking control and directing someone w...

I can't though. I may have a job lined up for me after graduation. But I would LOVE to take up that change of pace. You can take up that change of pace if you really want to do so. Having a job lined up after graduation doesn't stop you from pursuing that or similar goals. It's just that if you rea...
