I am not terrified of the dentist, but I do dislike the sensations of having my teeth cleaned there. Often times I find the tooth polish's flavor to be hard to take. I also find discomfort of the cleaning tools in my mouth. I can't stand that flavor, either. It makes me nauseous. For as much as it ...

Now that I think about it more, I used to use my teeth to pull the little hairs off the top of my hands and on my fingers. I got scolded for it so often that I eventually broke the habit, and then I started in on chewing the inside of my mouth instead. I completely forgot about that.

Reading about serial killers is such an amazing hobby ! But l write, I write until I'm done with my thoughts and feel tired of blinking. Last year, I suffered the worst bullying I could ever imagine. I was so depressed and that obsession "ate" me. I was constantly thinking about serial killers, and...

I'm on the extreme end of it. I wear shorts and sandals and the like when there's snow on the ground, and anything above about 50 F makes me miserable. I used to live in the midwest with snow, hail, wind, rain, and season changes, but now I live in Vegas and I feel like I'm going to die nine months ...

I have a full time job witch to me makes it feel as if I can't fit in enough alone time and special interests time. So instead of doing my job 100% a lot of the time I'm zoned out thinking about my special interests or researching online about them. To be honest I'm surprised I haven't got fired ye...

Yes, last year I had the worst obsession: Serial killers. Which led me to the psychologist, and then I got the diagnosis. I have an obsession with the number 18 since about 5 or 6 years ago. I'm trying not to think about it, because I get extremely... odd, and if it's in public, WORSE. I get the cl...

I've been extraordinarily busy with papers, exams, vet visits, advising, and about twenty other things for the last week or so. As a result, I've had next to no time for any of my special interests and I'm starting to feel unreasonably guilty about it. As if that isn't bad enough, I've noticed that ...

No, but I have an compulsion to wash my hands when I was younger I would use either saliva or lotion as a substitute for hand sanitizer. It makes no sense, right? Now I just settle with actually washing my hands as a way to deal with my habit.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one. I remember the days when I could read them most of the time... Apparently those were the easy ones. Thanks for the tip about typing in random characters. I'll try that. Maybe then it'll take less time to submit a reCAPTCHA than it does to sign up for an accoun...

I guess I mimic social norms - but do so unconsciously. I do wonder about child/teen/adult brain with AS/ASD - the fact is that teen brains work differently to adult brains, so I wonder how this effects those of us on the spectrum and how it may effect AS/ASD assessment between kids and adults. I d...

I commit a fair number of blunders everyday, and after I figure out what I've done I tend to get stuck on the what-ifs and should-haves for a while. If I do something really awful, my mind not only repeats that one thing but other things I've done of the same magnitude. When this happens, I start ge...

That is exactly what I do. I realised about 11 or 12 that I was getting everything wrong (I had no idea about Aspergers I just thought I was a horrible person) and so I set about learning how to get it right. I watched other people very carefully and mimicked them, I read books on etiquette, I watc...

I always figured "smart ass" was sort of a compliment. In a black humour sort of way. Basically like saying you're a witty bastard (around here, "bastard" is sort of a friendly pejorative) Same here. I've always taken it as a compliment, which may or may not be a good thing since I get called it al...

Most of the time I pick up on it being a rhetorial question, but no one else seems to pick up on mine. Another problem I have is that I'll ask a question that my family doesn't know the answer to and now, instead of trying to answer or just saying "I don't know", they nod their head in agreement or ...
