I know tones about Arthurian Legend. But I think I just pick up little facts that stick in my head because they're interesting (slugs have four noses, a month beginning on Sunday will have Friday the 13th etc.) and that seems to be common with AS. Also the ability to recite a lot of information. I ...

I was diagnosed with depression first.

Apparently it masks other signs of ASDs. Not sure about how to tell the difference though, sorry. It's all pretty mixed up in my head seeing as I never had any doubts

I have Raynaud's Syndrome which means that my extremities are always freezing cold, then when I go into a hot room my hands get really painful. They tingle and I can't touch anything without being in immense pain. Not sure if this is what you meant? No, it's not like that. What happens is when my h...

Restringing either my violin or my guitar is an absolute pain. The only thing I can suggest is to take it to a music shop and they should be able to do it or show you how to

I love Sheldon. I can relate with him so much it's unbelievable. It's annoying that he clearly is AS and would be diagnosed in seconds, but I can see why the producers would be reluctant to label him. We know he is and it gives us someone to look up to, in that he is incredibly successful and is him...

I can't wait!! !

Don't want it to be split in three though. There's barely enough in the book for one film let only three! I don't know what their going to be showing. Hopefully it won't deviate from the book too much

I love old films and stuff! Especially Dad's Army and old musicals like Annie Get Your Gun, Guys and Dolls, Oliver!, My Fair Lady.

I would never have said that it was linked to Autism. I don't know though, it just never even crossed my mind

At my work, when given a rule for a situation, I will remember it. Many times, however, I will get a slightly different situation and I will remember the rule but be unsure if and how I should apply it, when my coworkers don't seem to have this issue, and off I have to go again to ask. Also, I seem...

Mine are rituals doing things a certain number of times or rituals with counting. For example when taking a shower I wash each part of my hair...rinsing while counting to 10 (always front, back, underneath, and front again). Also my need for sameness is kind of OCD like (my psychologist thinks) whe...

I hate being assertive too.

But if it would help, I just say what I feel and don't necessarily take sides. Then at least I know that if someone is pissed with me it's for a good reason and not just because they misunderstood me.

I'm doing an EPQ (Extended Project Qualifications) on girls with AS and I have already posted this thread in the women's discussion, but I need to make a comparison between the diagnosis age of girls and boys. Sharing any diagnosis stories would be a great help and thank you so much for your partici...

Don't bother with the print outs. I've found that when I did that and the doctors were very sceptical and basically ignored the papers. They prefer to do it themselves. I know I'm only 18, but the way I would go about it (which I semi did, but I won't go into detail as it's a long story) is to go to...

I get really paranoid about stuff like this too. Perhaps just try and find out where something went wrong. Maybe there was a misunderstanding? I know sometimes my mum accuses me "using a tone" when I didn't mean to and didn't even realise I was doing it. It could be something like this. Either way, ...
