I did it a lot when I was a kid. I do it less now, but still have to fight to keep from zoning out in seminars and classes.
I like riding motorcycles for the simple reason that there's so much stimulation (all four limbs, eyes, olfactory, taste, etc.) to keep me engaged.

No offense to anyone here, because we all walk different paths. But, I just turned 40 and it did me more good to not be identified as an Aspie and to have to deal with life as I could than to have people holding doors for me and throwing me pity parties. Now, I can tell people I want to include, and...

barfed on the first days of class this semester. Yesterday and today, two different class schedules for mwf and t/th classes. So two packs of nervous anxiety, new environment, and "introduce yourself to the class and tell us about yourself." Happens every semester or school year since I was a kid. I...

Monks are individuals. If you go and meet or interact with some monks you'll see they're a diverse group, neurologically speaking.

I've got small question: is anyone here rides motorcycle? Right here. How do you deal with engine sound? I like the sounds of some bikes more than others. The sort of flat sound of a parallel twin engine like the triumph Bonneville leaves me cold. The super loud dissonance of a Harley with loud pip...

yeah, I used to do impressions of famous people when I was a kid. My dad used to tell me I should be a comedian, for reals. I still can take on the verbal cues of people after just a few minutes. Before the days of Asperger's, this was one of the ways I coped with being different. "How can I figure ...

My brother is the loud one. I'm the quiet one.
Be glad people are doing it within earshot. It can be much worse when she hears people whispering what they REALLY think about her.
When you're the quiet one, you sneak up on a lot of conversations you shouldn't.

I don't do a lot of running, but I do a lot of strength training. I like to go to my gym in the middle of the night, or just work out at home since the crowds bug me out a little. When I run I like to use a rubberized track and keep up with my distance constantly, which is a little weiird, I suppose.

John Deere combine.

If the problem is hordes, you need a tool for the job. If it's 1 or two stragglers, probably a Katana and a longbow, backed up with a silenced AR15 chambered in .308 shooting subsonic rounds.

I'm in. I have a number of firearms. No sweat. Been using them since I was a kid, and I actively train and maintain them. They're not an "in case of attack" button I ignore until I need them. They're tools. Fun, cool, and interesting little tools. That also provide interesting sensory input... 8O Y...

I just had some mom sitting beside me here in public with her kids. "Oh, well little beelzebub has Autism, so we make sure she's gluten free, dairy free, and blahblahblah..." I'm sitting like 2 feet away trying to not get the ragecomics "are you kidding me?" face the whole time. It's like people thi...

I fit the regular pattern pretty well.
I did okay til adolescence and then sort of lost traction and became a loner.

I was born in the American South too. I love the heat, and have since i was a kid.

Snow? Ice? Cold? no thanks.

The direct sun is what I love, but the muggy humid air is a real downer and overstims me big time.

yeah, I'm great at problem solving, as long as it's not too big.
If I have to manage large groups of people or too many variables, I get flustered and aggravated.

Motorcycles, car engines, hunting gear, physics, small scale chemistry (beer brewing), cooking, and stuff like that is no problem.
